About us
Supporting those with Additional Support Needs
Children who attend Lochies School have a range of severe, profound, multiple and complex additional support needs. All of our learners have a complex and unique profile of needs including a range of cognitive, communication and physical barriers to learning. Many also have significant health care needs and are supported to access a range of specialist therapy programmes and equipment. Our pupils are supported by our team of Teachers, Learning Assistants, Support Staff and Allied Health Professionals to ensure that they can fully access the specialist educational opportunities provided at Lochies.
Our School
Lochies is an interdenominational school in Clackmannanshire. We provide individualised full time education and learning for primary aged learners who have severe, profound, multiple and complex additional support needs.
We currently have 37 pupils.
School Facilities
Lochies has 6 classrooms in addition to a range of facilities including a sensory room, soft play, therapy room and general purpose room which is fitted with kitchen facilities. Our learners participate in a variety of learning opportunities with focus on building functional and key skills for independence in life, learning and work.
Lochies school shares a large gym and dining hall with our on-site neighbours, Deerpark Primary.
In our outdoor environment, learners access sensory and physical play areas which are secured by perimeter fencing . Beyond these are large grassed areas with access to a wheelchair friendly pathway, multi-use games area, gardens and wildlife habitats. Our extended grounds lead on to the beautiful wildlife reserve of Gartmorn Dam. We make regular use of outdoor learning through activities such as nature walks, geocaching and learning through exploration of the natural environment.
