Where can I find Mr. Malbec after school?
Mr. Malbec will be located down in the Athletic Training Room after school. This room is located between the locker rooms closest to the football field.
I think I have an injury, what should I do?
If you think you have an injury, please come to the Athletic Training Room after school, before your practice begins. Mr. Malbec and his Sports Medicine team will evaluate the issue and create a plan moving forward.
Should I just go to the Doctor?
If you go to the Doctor, you MUST get a note and bring it to Mr. Malbec. This is part of the athletic code of conduct. This allows our Sports Medicine team to be aware of all issues. You also MUST now get a Doctor's note that states you are able to return to play. Mr. Malbec cannot let you participate in any Olympic High School sports until this is done.
What is the best way to communicate with Mr. Malbec?
Mr. Malbec will be checking emails between the hours of 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. If there are concerns after these hours please do not expect a response until those hours are in effect.
Can Mr. Malbec treat concussions?
YES! - This is one of the specialties that Athletic Trainer's have! Athletic Trainer's have concussion recognition training and other tools to try and maximize athlete safety. CKSD utilizes Impact Concussion Testing for all High Risk athletes. If a concussion is suspected, please inform Mr. Malbec and he will conduct concussion testing to determine the status of that athlete.
I don't have time to do rehab exercises, can you just tape me?
NO! - One of Mr. Malbec's beliefs and protocols is that if you have an injury, rehabilitation exercises are 99% of the time going to fix the issue. By just taping and not doing rehabilitation exercises, the problem is not being fixed and is just being band aided. My goal is to fix injuries and reduce pain!
