I grew up in the beautiful community of Lake Joy in Carnation, Washington. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from Santa Clara University with an emphasis in Drug and Alcohol Prevention among youth. After graduation, I volunteered with students at different age levels while working in the private sector until I began my studies at Seattle Pacific University, where I received my Master of Education in School Counseling.
Before joining Central Kitsap Middle School in 2016, I worked in both the Tukwila and Bremerton school districts. I came to CKMS the same year CKMS welcomed 6th graders for the first time completing it's transition to a proper middle school. I've been loving life with super cool, squirrelly middle schoolers ever since! I have a passion for finding a child's natural strengths and gifts and allowing those assets to help us navigate the areas of life where we need additional help.
I spend most of my time outside of CKMS doing trivia, hiking, crossword puzzling, hosting weekly spaghetti dinners, walking my dog (Goon), and loving life with my husband and kids, Joy and Mikey, at our home in Bremerton. I love middle schoolers and will jump at any opportunity to dress up, dance around, and try to out-dork these awesome kids!

Born and raised in Kitsap County, I actually attended CKMS back when it was still a Jr. High School and graduated from CKHS in 2006. After high school, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance & Accounting and went to work in the nonprofit world. After a decade of crunching numbers for work and spending all my free time with people (especially volunteering with children/youth), I realized it was time for a career change! Going back to school was the best decision I ever made, and I earned my Masters of Science in School Counseling from Capella University in 2020.
I’ve worked at the elementary, middle, and high school levels - but middle school has always been my favorite. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are experiencing this amazing blend of drastic personal growth, crazy challenges, and really discovering/deciding on the grown human they want to become. Being a helpful, reliable resource throughout that time is my dream job!
My family likes to spend free time hiking in the Olympics, camping on rivers or the beach, fishing our gorgeous PNW waters, or cozying up with our doggos on the couch to binge watch whatever show we’re into. I love reading good fiction, trying to grow new flowers and veggies each year, and learning new/interesting/weird things from all the wonderful people I get to talk to every day.

I’m a navy brat, born in Bremerton and have lived all over the beautiful United States. I’ve worked at 3 school districts and was an elementary school Office Manager for 15 years before graduating to middle school! I worked at Cottonwood Elementary prior to accepting this position. I love working in schools and having a career that makes a difference in the lives of students! Here's how I can help YOU:
As registrar, I assist families new to the area with enrolling students at CKMS, manage student records, finalize grading, and am a Power School/reporting guru. If you have questions about your child's enrollment status, paperwork, records, grades, or accessing Power School, I am the best place to start.
As counseling secretary, I host a welcoming space for students in the Counseling Center, make sure everyone gets properly checked in, offer snacks, answer a million different questions, connect kids with online or real-life resources as needed, and just generally make the world go around.
Outside of school, I'm a pretty interesting lady. I married my high school sweetheart almost 3 years ago and we enjoy living in the Pacific Northwest with our variety of chickens! Some of my previous career choices include working in the roofing and masonry department for Pan Am, Workers’ Compensation Senior Account Representative, and Risk Control Manager for a temp agency.
