Day in Pre K

A Day in Pre K 🌟

A day in Pre K typically consists of a variety of activities designed to promote learning, social interaction, and physical development.  Here is a general outline of what a day in Pre K might include:

Morning Routine & Circle Time

Greetings and attendance

Prayers

Calendar activities and songs

Interactive slides with fundamentals and social interaction

We focus on a letter and number (1-20) each week, along with Math, Science, Social & Emotional Learning and Religion.

Learning Centers & Crafts Story Time

The classroom is typically divided into different learning centers such as arts & crafts, manipulatives, sensory play and games.  Students rotate through the centers to engage in hands-on activities that promote creativity, problem solving, fine motor skills, and imaginative play.

Teachers read stories to the students, introducing them to different genres, enhancing language skills, and fostering a love for reading.

Snack & Outdoor Play

We eat our snack in the classroom and then head outside.  We utilize the playground where they can engage in physical activities, explore nature, develop gross motor skills, and practice social skills through games and interactions with their peers.

Specials

We have one special every day of the week.  Specials include STEM, Library, Spanish, Music & Gym.

Lunch

We eat our lunch in the classroom.

Rest time

We have a designated period for rest or quiet activities to recharge and relax.

Free Play

Pre K students are given opportunities for unstructured play, where they can choose activities based on their interests and engage in social interactions with their peers.

Wrap Up

Our day ends with a wrap up session, where the teacher reviews the day’s activities, reinforces concepts learned, and prepares students for dismissal.

* The specific activities and schedule may vary depending on special events and activities throughout the school or holidays. Â
