Hello, my name is Mrs. Okpara and I will be your child's third grade teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and to let you know how excited I am to have your child in my class this year. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to teach your child so thank you for entrusting me with your child's education. I look forward to working with you and your child during this school year. My goal is to help them grow academically, emotionally, and help them reach their full potential. Teaching is and has always been my passion and I look forward to having many positive experiences with your child this school year.

This is my 7th year teaching 3rd grade at Alice Birney Elementary School. My family and I are from Egypt. I l grew up there till I was about six years old. My family decided to come to the United States and start a new life in Lawndale, California. An interesting fact about me is that I can fluently speak Arabic, and know how to speak and understand some Spanish. I have been married for 11 years to my wonderful husband, Kelechi. We have three beautiful children together, Tarik 11 years old and Amina 9 years old. Both my kids attend Alice Birney Elementary School in Colton. Oh!! and last October Chike was born.

I attended University of California, Riverside where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Education. I received my teaching credential from the University of Redlands, and earned my Masters of Science Education (M.S. ED) from Cal Baptist University in 2018.
