How do we get students to become critical thinkers in an ever-evolving digital society? Nowadays, students are making videos to communicate, demonstrate, and reflect. Why not take that passion for video-making and extend it into the classroom to promote critical thinking through the use of authentic activities? Using digital tools such as Flipgrid, Screencastify, and Educreations can allow students to explain their own thinking, collaborate, analyze peer work, and learn from their mistakes through reflection. It allows us, as educators, to provide constructive criticism and feedback as we facilitate learning.
This site provides guides, resources, ideas, and examples that attendees can access to promote critical thinking and metacognition through the use of digital tools. It also includes student examples in all subject areas and step-by-step instructions to help educators get started. Get ready to START LISTENING!
