The postsecondary advisor will keep your application on file.
After submitting the general application once, you do NOT need to submit it for local scholarships when you apply. Only submit the other supplemental items required.
ONLY resubmit the general application if you have revisions.

Advanced Placement Incentive Grant
Amount: up to $500
Criteria: Achieve two grades of three or higher on Advanced Placement exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school. Qualifying Advance Placement exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics C, Physics 1, Physics 2 and Statistics. Receive an award under the Access Missouri Student Financial Assistance Program or the A+ Scholarship Program in the academic year in which the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant is awarded. Students who are eligible for the Access Missouri or A+ Scholarship programs but have a calculated award amount of zero are eligible for the Advanced Placement Incentive Grant.

The American Legion Scholarship Programs
Amount: varies by scholarship
Criteria: The student must be a resident of Missouri. Applicants must be under the age of 21, unmarried and a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U. S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, who have received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A photocopy of the veteran's DD 214, discharge or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application. There are multiple scholarships available: Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship; M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Scholarship; Joseph J. Frank Scholarship; Charles L. Bacon Memorial, Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship, Missouri Detachment Sons of American Legion Scholarship. (Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship is separate, and only one student per high school is selected to apply.) American Legion - Shane D. Voyles Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $750
Criteria: Each high school in the state of Missouri may submit only one application for this award. Applicant must be selected by the faculty of the high school he/she is attending based on the individual's financial need, participation in athletics, participation in school activities/clubs, volunteer work, exceptional leadership qualities, high moral standards and extreme patriotism.

A committee will determine the student whose application is submitted to the scholarship competition on behalf of CJHS.
Aspire of Southwest Missouri Scholarship
Amount: $1000 awarded twice annually
Criteria: Resident of or attending school in Jasper or Newton County. Single head of household (single, legally separated, divorced, widowed) and not co-habiting with an ex-spouse, or partner; with primary physical custody of one or more children under the age of 21. Blue Line Scholarship
Amount: $1,500
Criteria: Applicants must be a relative of a law enforcement officer (current, retired, medically discharged, or fallen) and must provide proof of 3.0 GPA or greater and be graduating in Spring 2026. Use PDF or Google Doc for application submission.

Bob Hackney Memorial Scholarship
Amount: TBA
Criteria: The Bob Hackney Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who quietly impacts others by living life with kindness, humility, and strength of character. Must show financial need. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Must have maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5 and a minimum ACT composite of 20. Must have been involved in school or community activities. Bryce Boyd Hometown Dental Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Must be a current high school senior on track to graduate, seeking higher education and/or a service-oriented career. Carl Junction Alumni Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: CJHS seniors are evaluated based on financial need, GPA, ACT scores, activities/organizations, and a written statement. Submit General Scholarship Application and Alumni Scholarship Application to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS postsecondary advisor, via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Carl Junction Athletic Booster Club
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Athletic Participation, Academics, Higher Education, and Booster Club Membership are all considered. Submit all 4 items to apply: (1) CJHS General Scholarship Application, (2) Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Application/Essay, (3) Faculty Recommendation Form, and (4) Coach Recommendation Form to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor, via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Carl Junction Band Booster Scholarship
Amount: $100-$500
Criteria: Must have been enrolled in CJHS band and be a graduating high school senior enrolling in a college performing instrumental music activity for the fall after graduation. Recipient is not required to be a music major but must enroll in at least 12 college credit hours. Submit three required parts: (1) General Scholarship Application, (2) essay portion, (3) recommendation form to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor, via hard copy or scanned/email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Carl Junction Cultivators Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Applicant must be enrolled in/pursuing an earth science, ecology, agricultural, or horticulture-related field. Carl Junction Educational Foundation Scholarships
Amount: Several Scholarships available from one application; values vary.
Criteria: Must be a CJHS senior on track for graduation. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Must have maintained a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5. By applying for a Foundation Scholarship, you will be considered for several scholarships of varying amounts but may only receive one scholarship. Complete Scholarship/Essay Application online, and submit General Scholarship Application to Kristy Jones via email (krijones@cjr1.org) via email or hard copy.

Carl Junction FFA Alumni Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Active member of the Carl Junction FFA; 2.5 cumulative GPA; 2.5 first-semester college GPA; working toward an agricultural-related degree. Scholarship money will be awarded after the first semester college transcript is received. Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior who serves as a community leader and demonstrates financial need. Must prove full-time enrollment in an accredited college or vocational school. Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior with financial need who acts as a community leader with proof of full-time enrollment in an accredited college or vocational school. Carl Junction NEA (Prospective Teachers) Scholarship
Amount: $300
Criteria: Applicants must be planning to major in education. Submit five items: General Scholarship Application, Scholarship/Essay Application, and THREE Recommendation Forms to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS postsecondary advisor, via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Carl Junction Teacher's Association Scholarship (MSTA)
Amount: $750
Criteria: Any Carl Junction High School senior in the upper 34 percent in the scholastic rank of the current senior class. Applicants must attend a college the following fall and spring semester. Character, personality, and scholarship standing will be a prerequisite of all candidates for the scholarship. An interest in the teaching profession is considered, but not mandatory. Submit General Scholarship Application, Scholarship/Essay Application, and two 1-page letters of recommendation to Mrs. Kristy Jones via email (krijones@cjr1.org) or hard copy.

Cheri Patrice Young Dawson Endowed Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Applicants must be a Carl Junction High school senior who has maintained a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; has an ACT cumulative score of at least 18; will maintain full-time student status at an accredited junior college, college, or university for the first academic year following graduation; planning to pursue a degree in education or a related field. Criteria: FUTURE TEACHER’S SCHOLARSHIP - Applicants must be a CJHS senior on track for graduation; must be planning to major in education at Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern State, or Crowder College; and must have maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5. Craig Doubledee Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Attended Carl Junction High School for four years AND have been a member of the C.J. FFA OR participated in the varsity basketball program at CJHS. The award will be based on student’s grades, attendance & cumulative GPA. Dr. Craig A. Hayes, Jr., Health Profession Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Applicant must be a CJHS senior and US citizen with minimum 3.5 GPA who will enroll in an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution in the fall after graduation and pursue an education and career in the healthcare field. The applicant must write a 500-word essay explaining their interest and goals in healthcare. Dr. LaFerla - Dr. Wilson Orthodontic Team Scholarship
Amount: TBA
Criteria: Senior applicants must be a current or former patient and demonstrate financial need. Students are responsible for obtaining BOTH academic information AND signature from school counselor on application. Students submit the completed application via email to admin@laferlaortho.com, or submit in person at either office location. The scholarship funds will be issued directly to the student after enrollment for the fall semester has been confirmed.

Educational Community Credit Union Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Any ECCU member who is a graduating high school senior may apply for this scholarship. Each applicant must have an ECCU account in his/her name. If you are not a member, you may open an account and become eligible to apply. To apply for a scholarship, complete the entire application packet, this includes: Application form (attach list of activities, honors, awards, work experience, etc.); Official High School Transcript; Sealed letter of recommendation from a long-term acquaintance, teacher, or an employer; A 300-to-500-word essay (see page 3 for essay topic); Senior photo.

Amount: $4,000
Criteria: Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2023, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2023, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member for the last two continguous years through March 31, 2026. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

Gary Stubblefield Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Two $500 scholarships annually to graduating Carl Junction High School seniors. The one-time award is paid directly to each student to be applied to future educational expenses. Selection criteria include academic performance, involvement in activities, school and community service, leadership, and future educational and career goals. The scholarship is open to any student pursuing post-secondary education, including trade or technical training, junior college, or a four-year degree. Preference will be given to students affiliated with the CJACC if multiple students are deemed to be deserving of the award. Jasper County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Must live within the vicinity of Jasper County; have Senior documentation and planning to attend an accredited College, University, Community College, or Technical School; be a Jasper County Farm Bureau member or the applicant's immediate family must be a member; should be pursuing a degree in Agriculture or acceptable allied areas of study or appropriate Non-Agricultural training. Applicants may apply either for an Agricultural on Non-Agricultural scholarship but not both. The Applicant must specify their choice on the application form. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their leadership, community involvement as well as above average academic ability. Must be able to demonstrate financial need. For consideration, applicants must use the Jasper County Farm Bureau Scholarship Application Form V2015.2, available at the Jasper County Farm Bureau (JCFB) Office at 106 E 4th in Carthage or local High School guidance offices. Must meet all application criteria.

Joplin Metro Credit Union Lee E. Fritts & George C. Patrick Scholarship
Amount: Amounts and winners determined by committee. First place prize will be no less than $1000.
Criteria: Applicant MUST be a JMCU member as well as the primary account holder as of March 27, 2026. Scholarship guidelines: GPA, transcript, essay, activities/community involvement, honors and awards, and letter of recommendation.

Just Call Jo Team Scholarship
Amount: $250-$500
Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolled in a post-secondary institution following graduation. This scholarship is not based on financial need. Applicants enrolled in a 4-year university will be eligible for a $500 scholarship. Applicants enrolled in any other type of post-secondary education will be eligible for a $250 scholarship. On a word document or google doc that you create, write a 200-400-word essay on something you have accomplished during your high school career that you are really proud of and why. Kyran Addington Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $2,500
Criteria: Must be a CJHS senior on track for graduation between December 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.0 required. Max H. Glover Memorial Rotary Club Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or above, be accepted to a post-secondary educational institution, and enroll as a full-time student for the year following high school graduation. Missouri Association Mutual Insurance Companies

Criteria: Candidate must be a graduating high school senior living in Missouri, attending a Missouri high school, and have successful admission to a college, university, community college, or vocational school in Missouri. Candidates must have an affiliation to a MAMIC Member or Associate Member company.

Missouri Blue Scholarship for Law Enforcement Training
Amount: up to $5,000
Criteria: The Missouri Blue Scholarship is a law enforcement basic training academy scholarship that makes up to $6,000 available for each selected non-sponsored law enforcement academy recruit to help cover the cost of attending a Missouri basic training academy.
Deadline: Missouri Blue Scholarship recipients’ training academy class must begin by June 1, 2026.

Criteria: High school applicants must be Missouri residents from a Missouri farm or rural area. They must also plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university with an area of study in the field of agriculture.

Missouri Courage Scholarship (MCS)
Amount: $500-$2,000
Criteria: This scholarship is open to Missouri students seeking higher education who have worked to advance the dignity and equality of the LGBTQ community, the lives of people of color, religious minorities, women, immigrants, people with disabilities, or other social justice causes.

Missouri Farm Bureau and its Foundation For Agriculture work to promote agricultural education and grow new generations of leaders. Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation's Show-Me to College Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,000 per year (may be renewable up to four years)
Criteria: Open to graduating high school seniors who meet ALL of the following criteria: Missouri resident; 2026 high school graduate; Missouri high school seniors who are enrolled full-time at an eligible Missouri public or private higher education institution for the 2026-2027 academic year. Have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 12,000 or less as determined on the FAFSA; Have earned a 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent on another scale) cumulative weighted or unweighted GPA through at least seven semesters at a Missouri high school; Show involvement in activities such as participation in clubs, organizations, sports, community service, employment, and/or family caregiving. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years. Recipients must continue to meet the eligibility requirements and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50. Missouri School Plant Managers Association Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,000
Criteria: The Missouri School Plant Managers Association (MSPMA) seeks to assist qualified applicants who are continuing their education or job training by pursuing any of the following post secondary programs: Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, Vocational Certificate/ Degree, or Career Training. MSPMA scholarships are exclusively available to children of custodial, maintenance, and grounds staff employed within MSPMA member school districts.

Missouri United School Insurance Council: Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley MUSIC Scholarship
Amount: $2,000
Criteria: Only one application from CJHS will be submitted to the awarding organization, to be determined by the Carl Junction R-1 School Board. Scholarship is based on academics, school activities, leadership, community service, and essay. Applications must be typed and submitted to Mrs. Kristy Jones (hard copy or emailed to krijones@cjr1.org), along with one letter of recommendation from an administrator, counselor, or teacher. Do not obtain principal or superintendent signature. The deadline date on the application does not reflect our deadline date.

The Missouri Women’s Golf Education Association, Inc., grants scholarships to high school students in recognition of overall academic record, community service activities, leadership, and golf experience. Mail all required materials to the address provided on the application. The complete application and all supporting documents must be typed and postmarked by the second Saturday in March.

Peter R. Marsh Foundation's Silent Servant Scholarship
Amount: $595
Criteria: CJHS may nominate two students for this award. The Student Nominee’s past and current public service activities are for altruistic reasons only, marked by unselfish concern for the welfare of others; independent, voluntary and beneficial to the citizens of the greater community outside their school (off-campus); without monetary or material reward or personal gain including favor, advancement or recognition; devoid of any imposed requirement to serve, discrimination, matters of social conflict or difference, or service related to social, political and governmental ideologies, activities, and practices. Before completing a Scholarship Nomination, all applicants should read the Scholarship Award Reviews and the Frequently Asked Questions as well as the Peter R. Marsh Foundation’s Facebook page. Principal’s Leadership Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: This scholarship is open to any Carl Junction High School senior who will graduate in May. Applicants must submit a letter explaining their leadership experiences at CJHS, as well as the impact you made while in school. Along with that, submit the CJHS General Scholarship Application either via email (krijones@cjr1.org) or hard copy to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS postsecondary advisor.

Rose Mary Ferguson Legacy Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Must be a senior graduating between December 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, AND must have had an IEP during their high school years. Complete the Carl Junction High School General Scholarship Application and the Rose Mary Ferguson Scholarship Application, including letter of recommendation from case manager.

Webb City Elks Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: To be eligible for the Webb City Elks #861 Scholarship, a student must have completed their junior and senior years at Carl Junction High School and plan to be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Preference will be given to students attending a technical school, a vocational program, or agricultural program, or family member of an Elks member in good standing, or students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Submit General Scholarship Application and Scholarship/Essay Application to Mrs. Kristy Jones via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).
