About the Project

The City of Lakeport, in partnership with CivicWell, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and a team of technical consultants led by Blue Zones, are preparing an Active Transportation Plan for the City of Lakeport.

The project team will work hand-in-hand with the community and key stakeholders to develop a community-driven Plan that strengthens connections and improves safety, mobility, and access for walking and bicycling. Issues and solutions will be informed through an extensive and highly participatory, multifaceted community engagement process to identify strategies for change. The Plan will include short and long-term pedestrian, as well as bicycle and transit improvements, and will establish priorities and cost estimates for future implementation projects. Special emphasis will be placed on connections to schools and other key destinations, as well as developing solutions to barriers to pedestrian connectivity throughout the City.

The plan is funded by a Caltrans grant and will be developed in partnership with local business owners, community leaders and community members, CivicWell (nonprofit), and technical experts.
