Important Dates to Remember

EVERY FRIDAY THIS SCHOOL YEAR

Every Friday this school year will be a HALF DAY for students - 7:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  We WILL have our Extended Day Program (AfterCare) available each Friday.  Students who remain in AfterCare should bring a lunch.

PreK and Kindergarten Orientation (Day 1) 

Kindergarten students whose last names begin with letter ‘A’ through letter ‘M’ should report to campus at 9:00 a.m. Kindergarten students whose last names begin with letter 'N' through letter 'Z' should report to campus at 1:00 p.m.


Students will meet their teacher and other classmates to begin to get accustomed to being in the classroom environment.  Parents, you are encouraged to remain on campus to meet with Mrs. Africa Jones, our principal to discuss expectations, meet one another and answer questions.

ALL Kindergarten students report to campus to gather as a whole class.  Parents DO NOT need to stay this time.

Final Report Cards (for 22-23)

Final report cards are available via your student portal  account. 

Your username is your email address. 

If you have forgotten your password, you may reset your password by going to 

cityschool.org →  click on “LOGIN” in the upper right corner  →  then click “Can’t access your account?”  → follow the on screen instructions to reset your password.

Medical Forms

Don’t forget your medical forms! Medical forms need to be completed before the first day of school.  These forms include medical history, immunization record, physical and dental exams. The State of Pennsylvania requires all children entering school to be up-to-date with their immunizations.  Children who are not in compliance with the state requirements will not be permitted to enter The City School until their health requirements are up-to-date. 

(COVID-19 Vaccinations are NOT required at this time.)

Transportation

Philadelphia Residents: 

For students,  grades 1-5, bus transportation is available through the Philadelphia School District.  In August, you should receive a letter from transportation with information about your student’s route, stop location and pick up time.  If you have questions about your request, please contact Ms. Rebekah Williams at 215.792.6202.


Suburban Residents:

Please check with your school district for more information. Some districts provide busing to our campus, some do not.  You must first register with your local district for transportation.


Car Riders:

For Morning Drop-Off: If you are dropping your child off via car from 7:30 a.m. -8:00 a.m. please use our ramp entrance on 42nd Street. Note: Please allow your child to exit your vehicle on the same side as the school.

For Afternoon Pick-Up: If you are planning to pick-up your child via car we ask that you use the car line that will begin on 41st street check point between Pine and Baltimore Avenue. Must be in the car line at 3:15 p.m.

Lunch

Lunch will be available through YAY! Lunch beginning September 11, 2023

Yay! Lunch is a program which families choose from a wide variety of hot, nutritious lunches their kids will love through a user-friendly online Lunch Calendar. Orders can be placed days or weeks ahead of time. All meals are nut-free, vegetarian-friendly and accommodate allergens. All lunches are individually packaged and labeled for each student.
