These project delivery guides and resources were created to realize better projects for the people we serve. It is our mission to have a flexible and constantly improving, yet consistent singular location of guides, tools, and templates, collectively referred to as ‘Omaha Public Works Project Delivery Guides and Resources’ that provide a transparent and accessible understanding of Omaha Public Works capital project delivery process.
Our vision is that these project delivery guides and resources will benefit a range of stakeholders including the taxpayers and rate payers, contractors, internal city staff, consultants, utilities and other partners of the City by providing higher quality deliverables through a more efficient and thorough capital project delivery process that creates a more effective use of City resources and less delay and disruption to the public. By having a consistent and clear delivery process, these project delivery guides and resources aspire to improve job satisfaction of City staff and all stakeholders, increase cooperation between City divisions and increase access and opportunities for new City staff or others desiring to work with the City.
The mission and vision shown above is to relate to the specific task of developing and publishing project delivery guides and resources and is not intended to be construed as the mission and vision for the larger Public Works Department. Mission and vision were developed in a committee setting that recognized themes that developed from our discussions. These themes represented the benefits these delivery guides and resources could provide to their primary function of delivering better projects and streamlining actions from city staff and consultants, but also the additional benefits that could be realized such as better job satisfaction, faster and more efficient onboarding, and better integration across city divisions and departments.
