OACF Year 11 Support Site
The countdown has begun ... 25 weeks till the Year 11 formal exams begin.
21 weeks of teaching time (4 weeks of mocks removed from the 25 weeks).
Time will fly ... So the time is now to make a difference.
Message from Mrs Colledge-Smith
Year 11 is one of the most significant years of a young person's life. It can catapult and open doors where young people see opportunities they have never thought of before.
This years Year 11 will have to show many qualities and be resilient as there is no more COVID adaptations despite this year group being the Year 6 cohort when COVID began (they have no SATs data to support target setting). But with all that said ... we have the capability and the knowledge to support them through this time. What we ask in return is good time keeping, high levels of communication, a positive work ethic and trust that what we are doing will make a difference, even when they don't want to do something.
Our support for them will remain constant, the only thing that we cannot change is time. And time is marching on. So what can we all do together to make a difference?
This website aims to capture the key information from each of the exam boards.
If you have any questions parents/carers have probably asked them before and we will share the FAQs with you all.
There will be regular updates from exam boards and resources that will support students.
Please see the latest update for JCQ - exam board advisory group.
Let's make sure we have given you the information so you can support your child to thrive.
Message from Mr Amos-Goddard
This year it is imperative that School and home work closely together to support the year 11 students as they will be required to put in more time and effort than ever before. This is the last big push before they leave us here at City Fields on to the next step of their journey.
It may be tough for the student at times, especially around exams however this will be a relatively short-term sacrifice for long-term permanent gains when receiving their exam results and getting the grades they have worked so hard for.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any queries or support.
