SkillsUSA Signing Day 2019

On Friday, May 10th, CIT students were recognized at the second annual SkillsUSA Council Signing Day. Signing Day showcases students who have accepted a full-time job in their program of study, are attending college for a degree in their program of study, or have committed to serving our country in the United States Armed Forces. This event shows that a “signing day” ceremony should not only be reserved for student athletes, but for hard working students who have made a commitment to their trade.

This year’s event was held at DeSales University and recognized 128 students from the Career Institute of Technology, Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School and Monroe Career and Technical Institute. Parents were invited to watch as each student was introduced along with a representative from their employer, college, or branch of the military. CIT recognized 12 students who have accepted a full-time job related to the area they have studied at CIT, 14 students who will be attending college to further their studies in their CIT program area, and four students who are serving in the US National Guard or US Marine Corps.
