About Synergy Virtual High School

What is offered at Synergy?

CiTi BOCES employed NYS certified teachers, school counselor, special education teacher, secretary, teaching assistant, and principal.

Synchronous live classes via zoom.

Live schedule 8:40-3;00 with a study hall, lunch, and advisement period built into the day. (advisement from 11:25-11:55 for additional teacher support)

Enrichment clubs from 3:00-3:45. (Current clubs include gaming and cooking)

Special education accommodations include indirect consultation and resource group.

All other related services or direct consultation to be provided by the home school district.

Synergy provides all technology to the student. (laptop, additional monitor, external keyboard/mouse)

17% of Synergy students took at least one college course during the 21-22 school year with Cayuga Community College.

Synergy is for students who are:

- immunocompromised, struggle with anxiety, and/or have medical issues;

- seeking an alternative education pathway;

- disassociated/uncomfortable with the traditional high school experience;

- seeking advancement in an academic/interest area;

- interested in receiving a two-year college degree while still in high school;

- able to thrive in a virtual educational environment.

Benefits of a Virtual High School with an Early College Pathway:

-enhanced comfort and safety for teens/families who are immunocompromised or who are struggling with anxiety;

- individualized pathway development for students in both NY State diploma and degree/non-degree college courses;

- virtual enrichment opportunities after school;

-development of 21st century skills for students;

- building familiarity with college level expectations;

- taking college courses in high school, potentially saving students/families future college costs;

- preparing students to continue taking college level courses past high school.
