The Silk Road was a network of trade routes that linked Asia with Europe. Traders and travelers began using the Silk Road more than 2,000 years ago. It remained in use until the late Middle Ages. Today, a small part of the old route is a paved highway between Pakistan and China.

Nothwest Passage : For centuries explorers tried to find a route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean through the waters surrounding Canada’s Arctic islands. They called that route the Northwest Passage. They knew that finding the passage would increase trade for many nations. In 1906 the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen became the first person to complete the voyage by sea.
Toronto - Toronto is the largest city in Canada. It is also the capital of the province of Ontario. It is the cultural, trade, and financial center of the country.
