Hello Everyone! Welcome to a new school year! I hope that you all had a relaxing and fun-filled summer!
My name is Angelique Rasmussen and I am very happy to be in the grades 4/5 combined class this year. I've been teaching for almost 31 years (from ages 3 to 63), and with Island Catholic Schools since 2017 when our family relocated to Maple Bay from the Lower Mainland. My husband and I have been married for 27 years, and we have 4 children. I completed my Master of Arts in Theological Studies from St. Mark's College at the University of British Columbia in 2025 and am currently working toward a second Master in Pastoral Studies. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading and watching historical programmes. Mostly I love spending time with family.
My favourite parts about teaching are connecting individually with students and developing relationships with them. We have great potential to build a strong learning community, I look forward to an amazing year ahead!
The classroom environment is carefully prepared, and instruction is offered in an individualized and hands-on manner. Students have access to specialized manipulatives to support their learning, and a flexible timetable in which to engage with them. Additionally we will be using technology in the classroom, specifically Google Suite. The Google Classroom is linked on a button below, please look it over with your student frequently. There is also a link for the Queen of Angels site and the Catholic Diocese of Victoria site. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at arasmussen@cisdv.bc.ca or at 250-746-5919.
Hello Grade 4/5 families!
My name is Kelti Price, and I am very excited to be co-teaching Grade 4/5 this year alongside Mrs. Rasmussen! Last year was my first year as a full-time staff member at Queen of Angels, where I taught Grade 2/3. However, much of my teaching experience has been in the upper elementary grades, so I am excited to be back teaching in intermediate this year!
Before becoming a teacher in 2020, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care in 2018. I have been working with children and youth for over 13 years in a variety of roles, including as a lifeguard, swim instructor, recreation leader, and now teacher.
In addition to teaching Grade 4/5, you may also see me around the school teaching PE to our K–2 students, as well as Careers and Fine Arts in the middle school.
One of the things I value most in my teaching practice is building genuine connections with my students. I strive to get to know each student as an individual, including their unique strengths, interests, and learning needs. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable being themselves, feel valued and supported, and enjoy being part of our classroom community.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. I live with my husband and our daughter, who joined the QofA family herself this year in Angel Care! Together, we love spending time outdoors, camping, and exploring our beautiful island. I also love cooking and trying out new recipes in the kitchen!
If you ever need to connect with me, please do not hesitate to reach out at kprice@cisdv.bc.ca or at 250-746-5919.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and having fun together!
