It was a sunny and warm start to our year together so we decided to do our learning outside. we built patterns in the playground, we went on a fall scavenger hunt with our buddies, and we also read books with them.
we learned about our national hero, terry fox, and we supported his cause by participating in the 'marathon of hope'. we were happy to raise money for cancer research.
it is apple harvest time! we learned about the apple life cycle and we got to make apple sauce with Mrs. Duncan! The apple sauce was tasty...and healthy!
During fire safety week we were lucky to have the Duncan fire department visit us! we were reminded of important safety tips:
practice a home escape plan - remembering to stay low and crawl to exit
have a 'stop, drop, and roll' plan
have a family meeting place
do not play with matches
stay away from hot objects
make sure to use proper chargers when charging electronics
