I am a Vice-Principal and PYP Coordinator at the Canadian International School, with 21 years of combined experience in teaching, learning and leading IB programmes.
I was born and raised in Montréal, and am a speaker of multiple languages with a passion for storytelling through high quality picture books. My particular interest is in global literacies and advocating culturally responsive teaching practices that empower learners. I believe that the collective pursuit of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development is a unique opportunity for school communities to unite and take action ethically to show how deeply they care for people and the planet.
My local community partnership with Dinostaury, in conjunction with the OWE (One With Earth) social enterprise, has been an inspiring and rewarding cultural opportunity to collaborate with a passionate team composed of authors, illustrators, early childhood specialists, agricultural experts and parents with a common passion; to make content meaningful and engaging for little eco-warriors! My role as “Chief Storyteller” involves reading a Mother Earth trilogy about air, land and water pollution tailored for children between the ages of four and seven. With the support of urban farming experts, I raise young learners’ awareness and commitment to eco-sustainability. As a member of the Dinostaury team, I recently participated in a memorable storytelling and farming tour event for children with VertiVegies, a Singaporean, hydroponic indoor vertical farming company committed to sustainable urban food production and community well being.
