I am a playwright, performer, choreographer, and yogi. I received my MFA in playwriting from the University of Glasgow in 2013 and 500 hour yoga teacher training from Samadhi Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India in 2019. I have been a finalist for Amnesty International’s Freedom of Expression Award (2013), the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting (2014), the Playwrights’ Center McKnight National Residency and Commission (2020-21), and I won the Kaufman Excellence in Playwriting Award (2020).
A global writer, teacher, and public speaker, my work has been produced alongside theatre courses and conferences in Scotland, China, and Madagascar, and I have had over 15 productions of my writing in New York City.
An innovative and experimental theatre maker, I both write and perform what I call movement theatre, a blending of dialogue with dance and physical expression. In this time of racial, gender, mental health, and victim abuse, I strongly believe that the entertainment world needs to provide audiences with tools to cultivate a culture of respect.
As an educator, I express my passion for theatre with a social conscience daily as I teach theatre to grades 7-12 at the Canadian International School in Singapore.
