E.g. the Mississippi region alone will lose 75% of its crops.A rise in global temperature will also lead to a rise in sea level, and with it, saltier water that will not be as beneficial for the crops.Extreme climates will become more abundant as temperature rises. Violent downpours of rain can lead to soil erosion.An increase in carbon dioxide makes crop to grow but contains less nutrients such as protein.All factors above combined can turn a productive season into a disaster and cause a shortage in available crops.
The overall increase in worldwide temperatures are affecting the time crops need. This eventually makes it undesirable for some crops to be farmed in certain areas, resulting in that whole species of crops will not be able to be farmed. In poorer countries with already higher temperatures any extra temperature increase could be devastating as a self sustaining farm system will not last in these poor countries and food will have to be imported at a certain price. Warmer temperatures increase the population growth of certain insects and weeds, obstructing the development of crops. Mitigation is almost certainly needed to prevent any drastic changes to our agriculture.

Through clear images and summaries of points, it directly addresses the negative impacts.The infographic highlights the most important points to be made with subheadings; Expressive heat, Loss of Natural Resources, Flooding, Drought, Excessive Precipitation, and New Pests and Diseases. The left side of the infographic expresses the importance of these points, but lacks any specific case examples that would help strengthen the points. The image continues to express to the reader what needs to be done to limit the effects of climate change and what kinds of differences need to be made. Furthermore, images are very efficiently utilized to connect and clearly represent the information being given where it is “showing” more than telling. The infographic goes on to give the reader hope as it describes new and innovative ways to overcome this wicked problem, with the help of statistics and realistic goals. Overall, the infographic is very well done in terms of relevant information, clear images, a well understood colour schemes, yet lacks a clear source of the information being given.

This infographic is focused on adaptation techniques for agriculture in the face of climate change. It clearly outlines the forthcoming changes of agriculture potential, divided up into continents. However, it does not explain why or give any reasoning as to why each continent is effected how, but this may be an advantage since it stays on the topic of looking forward. The infographic has a well developed flow and leads the readers to understanding that “Adaptation is Key”; with the most important 3 sections being crops, livestock, and fisheries. Here, it uses visual aids to supports the points being made which further enhances the significance of adaptation. At the bottom of the image there are lear sources and dates outline, which allows this to be a reliable source of information. However, there could be more information or more detail to help persuade the readers to take action better, such as statistics or specific examples of places being mentioned or points being made.
