Welcome to Cebu International School!

Dear ISAC athletes, CIS community members, and visitors,

Welcome to Cebu International School for the ISAC Volleyball tournament, 2024! 

We are delighted to be your hosts, and we look forward to facilitating three full days of sports, sportsmanship, displays of individual skill and outstanding teamwork. Through it all, we hope you make new friends and above all, that each and everyone involved enjoy the tournament in many ways. 

A special word of encouragement to all athletes. You have worked hard to get to where you are, but ultimately, only one team out of seven of you will become tournament "winners". In competitive sports, saying, "how you play and what you learn is more important than winning" can sound a little like a line to make the "losers" feel better, but when you think about it, you will find it common across cultures for most people to have a great respect for those who display skill, effort, and resilience, despite not ultimately winning.

Be prepared for this possibility then, and keep in mind you are on a journey - sometimes you win, sometimes you learn! (Words of wisdom from leadership expert, speaker, coach, and author, John C. Maxwell).
