Each student at CIS must research and write an Extended Essay, in which they develop their own Research Question, engage in academic research, and write (and revise) their final 4000-word piece. The topic and subject are entirely student choice, and student's work with a Supervisor who helps them to hone their ideas and their process along the way. This work begins in grade 11, and culminates in the first semester of grade 12 -- it is a process that takes many students 12+ months to complete!
