EE Cafe Presentations
IB Diploma Programme students at CIS embark on writing the Extended Essay, starting in Grade 11 and culminating in the middle of Grade 12. During the process, students develop a research question, engage in academic research, and write a 4000-word piece. The topic and subject are entirely student choice. Students work closely with a supervisor whose role is to help students develop ideas and processes in completing the essay. The entire Extended Essay process takes most students 12+ months to complete.
Welcome to the 2022-23 EE Cafe!
Each year during the EE Cafe, our seniors present their Extended Essay process detailing the experiences, challenges, and successes that they have encountered along the way.
This particular batch of students has taken on the Extended Essay challenge within a variety of circumstances, starting Grade 11 online in remote learning, working through Typhoon Odette with limited (or no) electricity or internet, and completing the task once back in face-to-face learning. They are to be commended for their hard work and dedication in finishing (or soon-to-be finishing) this significant task!
