History
The CINS (Cluster for Integrated Neighborhood Schools) network, founded in 1978, serves a diverse range of schools including Hope Hill, Morningside, SPARK, Mary Lin, Kindezi Old Fourth Ward, Centennial Academy, Howard Middle, and Midtown High. Originally, Mary Lin was part of the Bass High School cluster, and Midtown High, formerly known as Boys and Girls High and Tech High, reflects a rich history of educational evolution. SPARK was formed by integrating schools from the Virginia-Highland, Midtown, Druid Hills, and Poncey Highland neighborhoods. Morningside Elementary played a pivotal role in the creation of CINS, with its mothers being instrumental in the foundation. In the early 80s, Morningside Elementary swapped students with C.W. Hill Elementary. Centennial Academy, a conversion charter school, replaced the former Fowler Elementary. Historically, the elementary schools within the Grady cluster served grades K-6, highlighting the changing educational landscape over the years.
