Class Rules
Respect other people and their opinions and property.
Keep all hands and feet to yourself.
Bring all learning materials with you every day. (See “Materials” below)
Be prepared to participate.
No talking when the teacher is speaking—pay attention.
Try to follow directions the first time they are given
Turn in all assignments -- on time.
Please raise your hand to: ask a question, get permission, answer a question, etc. You do not need to ask to get a tissue
If you choose to break a rule:
You will receive a written or verbal warning.
A second warning will result in a phone call home and/or be written up, depending on the severity of the problem
Materials
In Class:
Folder/binder to hold handouts and keep notes in (there is no textbook)
A writing utensil - Pen or pencil - no red or light colored inks please
Scissors, glue stick, colored pencils or markers
Remote Learners or Absent from class
Use an internet device to log into each class on Google classroom
Google Meet Code for the class period (given to you)
Check on google classroom what we are doing in class today

Grades
Grades are based on a point system.
In Class Assignments, Completion Checks, Tests, Projects, and Classroom Activities will make up your grades.
Each assignment will have a different point value, from 5 points to slightly over 100 points depending on the length, challenge, and substance of the assignment.

Completion checks are a bit like open-note quizzes and are usually 15 to 60 points, while tests are not open notes and usually around 80 to 100 points.
The total points available per assignment will usually be given to the students when the assignment is introduced.
**Late papers and projects will always be accepted with a 20% penalty (even for one day).**

Arrive on time to the room.
Place materials on your table or under your chair, not in the aisles or on the sinks.
If there are materials on the counters, please don’t use the side counters that day.
Copy your homework into your assignment book.
If you need to use the restroom:
Raise your hand and ask a teacher
Bring your Assignment book to be signed by me
Then fill out the Room Sign Out sheet
In the event of a fire/emergency drill, remain seated, and wait for instructions.
If we exit the classroom, stay with our class as we move and remain silent.
Absences
In the event that you are absent from class, it will be your responsibility to ask and obtain any work missed.
Google classroom will have what we do in class each day.
It will also most likely have all assignments posted and available to print.
Tests or quizzes will be made up within a day or two of your return.
If you miss a class due to lessons, appointments, etc. and are in school that day – you must come to class that day and get the assignments
You will not be excused from the assignment.
