We've built upon the experience we had in 2020.3 (supplementary) in order to design our 2020.1 calculus course.
This was the first time our classes were given entirely remotely. A very exciting challenge, though rewarding as we could see some improvements in the way students were tackling average problems or making a fit in their schedule to master 21 century skills like video editing and more. Our strategy was to let students choose what they like the most amongst several different activities (including interactive problems using Desmos, traditional list of problems, challenges, and much more). We have (public) videos on youtube for each lecture, with a mind map for the lecture and for the topics, with a small set of guide questions for each leaf in the mind map so the student can identify if he or she has obtained the skill, and a live stream each week where we propose several challenging questions and solve them with the students. You can press the figures to go to the respective playlist.
