About Me:
I am a PhD student in Mathematics at the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas (CIMAT) in Guanajuato, México, currently working under the supervision of Jorge Olivares.
Since 2022, I have been a co-organizer of the Seminario de Estudiantes de los Posgrados del CIMAT.
In the same year, I completed my Master's degree in Mathematics at CIMAT, also under the supervision of Jorge Olivares.
I am originally from Cali, Colombia, where I completed my undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the Universidad del Valle in 2020, under the supervision of Juan Miguel Velázquez and Alexander Quintero.
Outside mathematics, I enjoy cinema, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Research Interests:
My research interests lie in algebraic geometry, particularly in holomorphic foliations by curves.
My research focuses on two intertwined goals:
Understanding when a projective submanifold supports foliations that leave it invariant, following the modern formulation of the Poincaré problem.
Studying when a foliation is uniquely determined by its singular locus, a phenomenon commonly referred to as rigidity.
I am also interested in toric geometry, moduli spaces, and the Brill–Noether problem.
Preprint:
