Carlos Espinosa-Valdéz
I am a Mexican mathematician. I studied my master's degree at Center for Mathematical Research (CIMAT) where my advisors were Prof. Abraham Martín del Campo and Prof. Luis Núñez-Betancourt. I am originally from Guadalajara, Mexico where I first learned Commutative Algebra with Prof. Osbaldo Mata Gutiérrez and Prof. María de la Paz Suárez Fernández at the University of Guadalajara.
Research Interests
My area of interest is in Commutative Algebra, Coding Theory, Data Analysis and Cryptography.
Current project
I am working with Prof. Luis Núñez-Betancourt and Prof. Yuriko Pitones in Commutative Algebra applications to Coding Theory.
Also, I am organizer of the Student Seminar at CIMAT joint with Jonathan Treviño-Marroquín and Pedro Ramírez-Moreno.
Publications
“Regularity index of the generalized minimum distance function” (with Luis Núñez-Betancourt and Yuriko Pitones), available at Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra
Thesis
Master's degree thesis: Stanley-Reisner Theory: Simplicial Complexes, Hochster's Formula and Terai's Theorem
