Estimado estudiantes, padres o encargados;

¡Bienvenidos a tercer grado!  Estoy muy emocionada por la oportunidad de conocerlos, y trabajar con ustedes en este año escolar.

Un poco sobre mí: 

Mi nombre es Dennice Zayas y soy nativa de Puerto Rico, me gradué de la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, con un Bachillerato de Artes en Música Popular, cuatro años de estudios de Ingeniería Eléctrica en la Universidad Politécnica de PR y cuatro años de estudios de Educación Elemental en la Universidad Ana G. Mendez. Estuve quince años trabajando como maestra en Puerto Rico y este es mi tercer año en CILA. 

Un pequeño resumen de lo que trabajaremos este año escolar en Español y Matemáticas: 

En Español vamos a repasar las letras con sus sonidos, repasando las sílabas a la vez que trabajaremos conociendo mucho vocabulario nuevo. Y trabajaremos para aprender a escribir oraciones simples y complejas. Sujeto y predicado, verbos, nombre, pronombre, adverbios, preposiciones, conjunciones, singular y plural, entre otros. Además, vamos a conocer nuestra cultura hispana.

En Matemáticas vamos a trabajar varias destrezas como números hasta el 10,000, suma y resta, cálculo mental, multiplicación y división, geometría, masa y peso, dinero, área y perímetro, entre otros.

¡Trabajemos juntos para hacer de éste un gran año de aprendizaje!

Dear students, parents or guardians;

Welcome to third grade! I am so excited for the opportunity to meet you, and work with you this school year.

A little bit about me:

My name is Dennice Zayas and I am a native of Puerto Rico, I graduated from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, with a Bachelor of Arts in Popular Music, four years of studies in Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of PR and four years of studies in Elementary Education at Ana G. Mendez University. I spent fifteen years working as a teacher in Puerto Rico and this is my third year at CILA.

A short summary of what we will work on this school year in Spanish and Mathematics:

In Spanish we are going to review the letters with their sounds, reviewing the syllables while working on learning a lot of new vocabulary. And we will work to learn to write simple and complex sentences. Subject and predicate, verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, singular and plural, among others. In addition, we will get to know our Hispanic culture.

In Mathematics we are going to work on various skills such as numbers up to 10,000, addition and subtraction, calculating mentally, multiplication and division, geometry, mass and weight, money, area and perimeter, among others.
