If your child's teacher is using Google Classroom, you would visit classroom.google.com, sign in or create an account, click the + button and enter the code listed by teacher and/or period below to join the class.

If your child's teacher is using Canvas LMS, you will need to email the teacher, their email address is listed next to their name below, and request to be added as an observer. You will then receive an email with the link once they have added you.
