GCSE Physics is taught using the AQA Physics and Combined Trilogy courses over three years. Emphasis is put on giving students as much opportunity as possible to see the Physics in action through a wide range of practicals and demonstrations.
Physics is a two-fold subject, there is the practical element - taking results and handling data to show relationships between variables to see what happened. Then there is the theoretical side - using a student’s prior knowledge and understanding to build an explanation of why that happened. Students get ample opportunities to practise both of these skills to ultimately develop into thoughtful scholars, equipped to consider new situations, both in Physics and in everyday life, in a methodical manner able to formulate and test theories and conclusions rigorously.
