Simplifying, ordering and operations with fractions, percentages of amounts, percentage increase & decrease, sharing in a given ratio, best buy problems, properties of quadrilaterals, angle facts, area of shapes made from rectangles, triangles, parallelograms and trapezia, volume and surface area of cuboids

Summer

Using and finding general rule for sequences, introduction to linear graphs, pie chart, time series, scatter graph, introduction to probability

Year 8

Autumn

Indices laws, factorising, construct and solve linear equations, area & circumference of circle, volume & surface area of prisms, transformations

Spring

Percentage change, repeat percentage change, prime factor decomposition, HCF & LCM, mutually exclusive events, probability diagrams including tree diagrams, introduction to Pythagoras

Summer

Plot linear graphs, gradient, y=mx+c, parallel & perpendicular lines, congruent & similar shapes, introduction to bearings, scale drawings.
