Academic Resources for Summer Learning
Please take a look at the information below to see what your children can be working on during this time of Learning from a Distance. Your child's teacher will be in contact with you and your child to make sure that you are able to access all of the resources needed to continue academics.
Dear Numa 4th-Grade Families,
In light of the current situation in our district, Numa’s fourth-grade teachers have compiled a list of the following online learning programs (with links) that can be used at home:
Math and language arts resources per grade level are offered on this website which the school district pays for. Please work on the starred activities. Starred activities are the ones they should complete. If they finish these, it would be best to focus on the following: multiplication, fractions, decimals, and measurement for additional practice in math. This site contains videos and lessons for online learning. Students are able to start in their specific learning level from which they tested in winter MAPs. Username is their student ID; their password is abc123.The above resources are paid for by the school district.
Companies that are offering their services free during the shutdown:
This site includes science, social studies, and social emotional content. This site contains many stories for students to read at their levels. Scholastic will be offering free daily lessons per grade level.Offline Resources: Available in front of Numa in the one of the two cabinets. Look for your teacher's name on the drawer.
Check your student’s Google Classroom as well. Some teachers will be posting assignments to continue with what they were doing in class. To login, they need to enter their school email (lastnamefirstname@fallongreenwave.com); their password is their student ID starting with 00 if it starts with a 6, and 000 if it starts with a 7.
For science, we would like them to observe a bud on one tree or bush near your home. Everyday, they can write down their observations or simply draw the bud to mark its progress. They can even turn their illustrations into a flip book.
For social studies, students can continue working on their Nevada Alphabet book rough drafts. We have been working on these in class for the past few weeks. Students will need white copy paper. They are to write at least 4 sentences for each and it has to have a connection to Nevada.
Just reading books will help your child to keep up with their reading skills.
