Background and rationale:

One of the most important duties of the Physical Therapy Graduate schools is to facilitate research and create significant knowledge to arise constantly and so that new knowledge can be expanded to boost the physical therapy profession. There is a need for opportunities for students, teachers and physical therapists to share information, disseminate science, and create an international research collaboration network.

Therefore, the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, cooperated with two other universities, which include the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Mahidol University and the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University, to arrange two previous international physical therapy research symposiums in 2019 and 2020 which held at Mahidol University.

In 2021, Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University is proud to host a virtual academic symposium called the International Physical Therapy Research Symposium 2021 (IPTRS 2021) with Mahidol University and Thammasat University as a co-host as in the past. The theme of this symposium is “Current physical therapy research and future perspectives”. We hope such work will be an essential mechanism for the advancement and production of research. This symposium should provide a forum for graduate students, teachers, and physical therapist to disseminate the information obtained from research and to create a further national and international research network in the field of physical therapy.


Objectives:

  1. To create a forum for the dissemination to the attendees of information from current physical therapy research and related science.

  2. To create partnerships, communication and information networks between attendees

  3. To build a forum to share academic learning and research experience in physical therapy for students, graduate students, graduate alumni,

  4. To strengthen the ability of attendees for presenting research findings, both verbal and poster, in international language at the academic conference
