Linda Rudy, MEd, RN, LSN "Nurse Rudy"

BSN: Ursuline CollegeLSN: Ashland UniversityM Ed in school nursing Cambridge College

I started my nursing career in Orthopedics and then Outpatient Surgery and Recovery Room. When my kids started elementary school I started subbing in the district and I knew I had found my calling, School Nursing. After completing my school nurse licensure I was hired full time for the district and have never looked back. After working in school nursing for over ten years I decided to further my education and attended Cambridge College for my MEd in school nursing. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and connected me with school nurses from all over the country whom I still keep in contact with for collaboration. I am starting my seventh year as the head nurse for the district and love working with such a caring and conscientious group of nurses. I am dedicated to the health and well being of our students, staff and community.

Rose Varcelli, MEd, BSN, RN, LSN"Nurse Rose"
MEd from Ashland UniversityBSN from Case Western Reserve University Member of the National Association of School Nurses and the Ohio Association of School Nurses
After working several years in youth ministry and the banking industry, I was inspired by my best friend to pursue a career in nursing. I started my nursing journey at University Hospitals and after 14 years I continued my career at Southpointe Hospital. During my hospital tenure, I gained experience in a variety of specialties, including Orthopedics, Maternity Care, Neonatal Nursing, Home Care, and Psychiatry. My love for Behavioral Medicine took me to a nursing position in the Bellefaire JCB Health Clinic, which after several years, led me to Bellefaire School, my first school nurse position in the district. I admit I miss Bellefaire School, but since its closing, I have experienced all levels of school nursing in my roles at Gearity, Fairfax, Wiley, and Heights High. This is my 18th year in the district and 7th year at the High School. I am thankful to have come full circle and am grateful to be working with adolescents again. I'm proud to be part of the Tiger Nation Nursing Team and blessed to be surrounded by incredible, dedicated colleagues.

I knew I was destined to be a nurse as early as elementary school after caring for my grandmother. Ihave taken many paths on my nursing journey. My experiences include Emergency Care, Orthopedics,Neurology, School Nursing, Camp Nursing, and Hospice Care. I am proud of the experience I havegained. I fell in love with school nursing after working for a charter school for three years and that lovewas solidified while spending my summers in the White Mountains of New Hampshire working as acamp nurse. Being a school nurse provides me the ability to build relationships with students andsupporting them on their paths to greatness. For me, each day is a new day to connect with students, staff, and families to help make the health and success of their student a priority. It is my goal to providecompassionate care to limit injury, and illness, while enhancing the overall health of our students. I amexcited to join the Tiger Nation Nursing Team!

Andrea Smith Oxford/ Gearity Elementary"Ms Smith"
Hello all! My name is Andrea Smith and I have had the honor of being a Cleveland Heights team player for over 13 years and it’s been my pleasure to have spent the last 5 1/2 years working as a nursing assistant. It’s so funny when I have students come to see me and I’m like "I know your Mom/Dad" because I went to school with one or both of their parents. The look on their faces is priceless! Did I mention I’m a Cleveland Heights Alum as well! It’s been such an amazing journey returning to my old stomping grounds and being able to give back what was once given to me!
When I’m not driving my school kids to and from school or fixing boo-boos in the nurses office, I am “just” regular ol’ Mom to my 13 year son and my 22 year old daughter as well Mummy to my fur babies. I hope that each and every one of you is staying safe and healthy, I miss seeing all of those smiling faces and I hope to see you all real soon!
