The Imagine Math program features a web based curriculum used in your child's classroom and at home. This program is designed to support your child’s educational experience and is a valuable resource to reinforce the math curriculum at PVC. This online math program adapts to your child’s level of math fluency and provides live, state-credentialed teacher support when students need assistance. Imagine Math is proven to increase math proficiency when students use it for at least 60 minutes (combined in-school and at home) each week. Students will have Learning Lab each day to work on the program; however, the amount of time they complete during this time may vary based on other factors. Students may complete all of their assigned time (60 minutes) during Learning Lab and will not need to bring the work home.

As a class, we discussed some very important strategies to help students do their best. We would also like you to be aware of this information, as we navigate through this new program with your child and you this year:

Using Imagine Math at Home: Because Imagine Math is an online program, your child can access it from any computer with Internet access—whether at school, home, or the library. Your child can access Imagine Math from home on computers or tablets, including PCs, Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, Android tablets, and Windows tablets (no smartphones). To log-in to Imagine Math, visit math.imaginelearning.com. For the best experience in Imagine Math, students should use headphones or speakers to hear voice prompts or to listen to live teacher support. For a complete list of system requirements, visit support.imaginelearning.com/mathtech.

Recommendations for Parents Your child’s success in Imagine Math can be heavily influenced by consistent parental involvement. These recommendations will help you and your child get the most out of Imagine Math:

Encourage your child’s participation in Imagine Math. The more your child engages with Imagine Math, the more their math fluency will increase.

Imagine Math provides constant support and immediate feedback on student performance, especially in those areas where students tend to struggle. Encourage your child to be thoughtful as they work through math problems. Remind your child to show their work or take notes on a separate piece of paper or in their math notebooks, where they can revisit their work at a later time, if necessary.

In 5th grade, we expect students to spend at least 60 minutes per week completing assigned material. In class, your child was assigned a username and password. This information is written in their homework planner (PVC log-in username, password, and site code of 3608580). Students visited http://math.imaginelearning.com to input their username and password (please note that the log-in information is case sensitive). Please remind your child to sign OUT at the end of their session.
