Choice Boards Students will choose at least 1 activity to complete monthly for Homework. They receive Billy Buck$ (‘Money”) for it. This begins in October.

SHUT DOWN and CHARGE Chromebook every day!
Please treat the loaned Chromebook with care.
Keep food and drinks away from it.

HOMEWORK/NOTES FOLDER
This folder will be our primary way of sending information back and forth. It will travel between home and school each day and will include homework and any important papers (notes, forms, etc.). Please check it daily, especially at the start of the year when many forms will be sent home. Kindly complete and return them as soon as possible.
NEWSLETTER
“The 4SH Newsletter” will be emailed to you each week and will be your go-to source for
updates about our class. Please also check the CET website and Mrs. Bianchi’s Principal Newsletter for school-wide news and events.
PLANNER
Your child will receive a CET- provided Student Planner to help them organize their assignments, track due dates, and manage their schedule. This tool is designed to promote responsibility and independence.

Is your child taking the bus? CAA? walker? Car Pick up? Do they know where to go?
4th Grade $tore Students apply their math skills in order to make purchases! They fill out receipts, multiply, add, subtract, budget, borrow and loan ‘money’. They earn “money”, or as we call it, “Billy Buck$” to purchase real items.

Homework/Notes/RLR Folder Effective home/school communication is essential. We will be using a folder to transport important information between home and school. Please check your child’s Homework folder daily or have your child leave you important papers!
This is where you will find all paper correspondences (notes/forms/notices/etc.). This is where you should put notes, etc.
It is your child’s responsibility to bring this folder to and from school every day. Folders will be labeled and ready to use soon.
Their daily Reading Log and Response (RLR) (click for a sample) is in this folder as well.
Homework: I will let you know when homework begins.

Label Belongings: Remember to label ALL of your child’s belongings (backpacks, supplies, coats, hats, water bottle, etc.); items frequently find their way to the Lost and Found…it often looks like a clothing store!
Folders and Notebooks:
I have a Color Coding System. You can color code your notebooks and/or folders with a sticker or draw with the correct color.

Lunch/Recess: 12:40 – 1:35 ( Lunch 12:40 - 1:10/Recess 1:10 - 1:35)
Mail: Each student has their own mail slot for papers going home. I alphabetize students by first names and number them accordingly. Mail is numbered to be sure it gets home with the correct child. (ex: Amy 1, Bob 2, Cassie 3. If we find mail on the floor with # 3 on it, we know it belongs to Cassie.) Have your child show you their HW folder daily.
Money/Checks: Whenever money is being sent to school it should be placed in a sealed envelope. Label it with: your child’s first and last name, class and purpose (ex: Spirit Wear, lunch, trip, etc.). Checks are made out to: CHUFSD
Newsletter:
The 4SH Newsletter, which is usually emailed on Mondays, is to keep you informed of what is happening with our class. It will include information, such as important dates, reminders, curriculum information, and much more. This is your go to for all 4SH questions.
Parent Square: Parent Square link
The District and Principals communicate with families via Parent Square emails. Please read all correspondences to keep up with very important information, alerts, school closings, fire drills, lockdowns, and much more.
IMPORTANT Pick-Up Patrol (PUP): Please be sure to review the dismissal plan and update it if necessary.
11:59 is the cut-off for changing dismissal. Teachers receive the Dismissal for the Day email at 12:00 noon.
Your child’s default dismissal is the go to in PUP.
If there is a change, please make it for the day.
Your child’s safety is my number one priority, therefore, I need to know where to send her/him when they leave me at 2:25.

Announcements begin at 8:25
Snack Time: Please remember to send in a snack/drink daily. A separate bag would be good (perhaps a Ziploc inside their lunchbox marked snack). Remember to send in utensils, napkins, & a non-spill water bottle.
reminder: Kids tastes change on a dime, so please check in with them to pack what they like.
