Zoom Lesson Tips:
How to set up for lessons:
Set computer up so that the camera is at eye level with you when you are standing. You can stack board games or books underneath.
Have all sheet music printed out before lesson start. Do NOT use phone or computer for sheet music.
Have karaoke's already queued up on your phone, not your computer.
Buy a Music Stand.
Have a window or light source facing you, not behind you.
Have a piano, keyboard, or some other way to get your pitch readily available.
Have a metronome or metronome app.
Use a three ring binder to organize all of your music. Tabs help keep track of your songs.
Have note paper in binder for taking notes.
Have a pencil at the ready.
How to practice well:
Record every lesson and listen to it within two days of your lesson.
Take notes when you listen to your lesson and use them when you practice.
Practice the length of your lesson 4-5 times a week as a minimum.
Make the warm ups we do in lessons part of your practice time every day.
Don't sing through your songs straight: start at the sections that give you trouble and work on them using the same techniques we used in the lessons. THEN try running the song.
Use your recording device when you practice to help you hear yourself accurately.
Video record your acting.
