Course Content

Students choose to do either International GCSE Double Award or single subject Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

Course Structure

In years 9, 10 and 11 a course is taught leading to the Edexcel IGCSE. Single subject IGCSE Physics is taught in five periods per cycle.

Reading and Resources

Textbooks will be issued according to the course content, some additional reading suggestions are: Focus magazine, New Scientist, Why does E=mc2?

Students taking Double Award Science are taught 10 periods of science per two week cycle; in Year 10, 3 lessons of Biology, 4 lessons of Chemistry and 3 lessons of Physics; in Year 11, 3 lessons of Biology, 3 lessons of Chemistry and 4 lessons of Physics.
