Many thanks to the Y7 & 8 Student Voice 2019 for sharing what they believe to be the basic standards and expectations of a Waconian.
In the classroom
Be 100% focused on working hard.
Try your best.
Don't be afraid to have a go.
Respect your teacher and your classmates.
Always listen and obey the rules of the teacher.
Don't interrupt the teacher or a student when they are speaking.
school equipment
Pack your bag the day before.
Bring all the correct books.
Come fully equipped to every lesson.
You shouldn't need to ask another student for anything.
Bring calculators and pencils to Maths lessons.
Bring more than one pen.
Make sure you have glue and scissors.
the planner
Bring it to every lesson.
Write all your homework in it.
Always write down the due date.
Make sure you tick off homework once it is completed.
Make sure you get it signed every week by parent/carer.
Don't doodle or graffiti on it.

Do it!
Neatly set it out.
Do it to the best of your ability.
Complete it on time.
Try your best and if you don't understand, ask your teacher - don't just leave it.
Leave enough time to do it well.
Try to complete it on the day you get it so there is time to ask the teacher if you are unsure about anything.
dining hall
Put your bag in the bag racks before you go.
Line up in an orderly fashion.
Always say please and thank you.
Take your coat off to eat.
Behave well.
Tuck your chair in afterwards.
Clear up after yourself.
Put cutlery in the right compartment.
Respect all the staff, they work very hard for us.
uniform
Shirt tucked in.
Skirt not rolled.
Long hair tied back.
Tie is tied properly.
No wild hairstyles.
Wear your blazer.
Wear the right House tie.
Clean black leather shoes.
Open blouse can be worn in the Summer Term.
