Leadership Conversations is a monthly forum for leaders at CHRIST to engage in conversations around leadership. Through this forum, the Leaders at CHRIST will Listen, Engage, Analyse, Deliberate, Encourage, and Reflect on experiences, models, and challenges to leadership in University Life. This forum allows the leaders in the University to share perspectives based on their observations and expertise. Different speakers from within the leadership cohort of CHRIST facilitate the Leadership Conversation. The sessions are on various topics related to leadership success, failures, approaches, models, and leadership stories to tell.
The objective of the sessions is to give the leaders at CHRIST (All campuses Five campuses - Three in Bangalore, Lavasa, Pune, and NCR, Delhi) a platform to come together, share, and learn from others; and lead from a place of having opportunities to further collaborations with each other. A Monthly event is initiated and conducted by PKCL for the leaders at CHRIST, to connect as leaders, be challenged to learn, think differently, and start conversations within and among themselves as Leaders in CHRIST.
33rd Edition
The session was facilitated by Dr. Sachin Sinha, Associate Professor, and Head of the School of Business and Management at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi-NCR. The topic for the session was ‘'Timeless Laws of Leadership: Classical to Contemporary.' Dr. Sachin Sinha has a dedicated career spanning a period of 25 years and he has been in the profession till now. He has taught students at different business schools and has also worked in corporate communications.
The areas of interest that Dr. Sinha teaches include Consumer Psychology and Marketing Communications. He is a literature and cinema enthusiast and in addition to his academic publications, he also has two literary books to his credit.
The moderator of the session was Dr. Tarun Kumar Singhal, Professor, School of Business and Management at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi-NCR.

The session was facilitated by Dr. P. John J Kennedy. The topic for the session was ‘Fostering Humanistic Leadership in Universities- why and how?’ Dr. P John Joseph Kennedy is the Professor of English and Cultural Studies, and Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities. He has a Ph.D. degree in the field of Postcolonial Studies and he is a dreamer at heart, eternally optimistic about creating a purposeful and meaningful academic space and yet unafraid to use the tool of self-criticality to achieve it.
His leadership journey at CHRIST has been incremental. Since 1990, the year he joined CHRIST, he has held leadership responsibilities starting from Coordinator, Head of Department, Associate Dean, and is now the Dean. The gradual progress in leadership roles has enabled a comprehensive and holistic approach to academic leadership at the University.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Phinu Jose and the topic for the session was "Leadership is a Platform Not a Destination". The session was an experiential sharing of taking on leadership responsibilities as the Director of CSA and as a women in leadership.
Ms. Phine Jose is a professor in the School of Business and Management. Ms. Jose has an MBA from Gulbarga University. Fr Jose CC is the Pro Vice-Chancellor at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Dr. Fr Jose CC has his research interest in Maritime History, Contributions of Missionaries to Literature, Organizational Culture and Work Values in Educational Institutions, China and Malabar relations, etc. Fr. Jose was involved in the restoration of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara Archives and Research Centre, Mannanam, Kottayam, State of Kerala, India; and Archives in the library at Dharmaram College, Bangalore. Fr. Jose undertook research and publication to showcase the rich reserve of primary sources in these archives.; and served for many years as Principal, Christ Junior College, Bangalore. Ms. Isabel is an accomplished Consultant and Wellness Coach. She has a Master's in Philosophy in Clinical Psychology (NIMHANS, India). She has over 19 years of experience of which over 10 years were out of the country. She has experience as a management consultancy and supporting Fortune 500 industries in India and across the Asia Pacific. She is well-versed in facilitating the design, processes, and delivery of a range of People Management solutions, such as EAP, Executive Coaching, Retrenchment Counseling, and Crisis Management.

The session was facilitated by Col. Ranjeev K Babu. The topic for the session was 'What is Agile Mind-set'? The session focused on how and why one needs to imbibe agility in thought, actions, and attitude to operate in an environment where the outcomes are highly unpredictable, and where the key performance indicators are largely ambiguous. In the session Col. Ranjeev K Babu enlightened attendees about the skills that enhance an agile mindset, viz the Power of Listening, and Asking Powerful Questions.

The Session was led by Prof Sirish Venkatagiri. The topic for this session was 'Agile Leadership for the Digital Era'. It can be said that management principles and practices in the 20th century were largely influenced by the automobile industry. The term “agile” as applied to a way of working originated in 2001 with a new approach to software development. Institutions are to accelerate the implementation of initiatives, eliminate delays, and continually improve the stakeholder experience. Agile has a proven track record in all these crucial areas.
Prof Sirish Venkatagiri worked in the field of IT for over two decades – half of which was in the USA, Germany, and the West Indies. Prof Sirish has been with CHRIST for over eight years and is with the Strategy & amp; Leadership area of the School of Business and Management.
Fifth Edition
The session was facilitated by Dr. Fr Viju. The topic for this edition was 'Resonant Leadership: A Call to be in Tune with Oneself and Others'. The resonant leadership style of leadership is based on emotional intelligence skills which consist of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management. This foundation of high emotional intelligence permits resonant leaders to be emotionally in tune with the people around them, conserve their values, and live passionately.
Dr. Fr Viju. has worked for the last 13 years at CHRIST, and is presently the Director and Dean at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR Campus. He was recognized for his outstanding work and received the first rank in Psychology at BA H N B Gharwal University, and the third rank in MA psychology from the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam. He also received the best paper award in UGC sponsored National Conference on enhancing psychological wellbeing.
Fourth Edition
The session was facilitated by Prof. Dilip Chandra. The topic for the session was 'Design Thinking for Transforming Higher Education'. Education is primarily an act of inspiring learners; and those in institutions that fail to inspire eventually fail to exist. The question as to how to sustain and inspire is the question all about innovation. The context was set to re-imagine education in the current context, the need to embrace the method that will embrace dynamism, experimentation, empathy, and assurance, as core attributes of Design Thinking as an important method.
Prof. Dilip Chandra is a teacher in the area of business and management with over ten years of experience in academia. Prof Chandra is pursuing a PhD. in the area of Innovation Management and Design Thinking. Has completed his MPhil in the area of Business Sustainability and has an MBA from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Jyothi Kumar and the topic for the session was 'Leader-ship to Leader-shift'. In this session, Dr. Jyothi Kumar mentioned the 11 'leadership shifts' mentioning and explaining them. Dr. Jyothi Kumar is the Dean, School of Business Studies and Social Sciences. She is a United Board fellow and has attended a summer course at the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, USA. She has teaching experience of 20 years in the areas of General Management, Finance, Taxation, and Strategic Management, both at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
Second Edition
The session was facilitated by Dr. Georgy Kurien and the topic for this session was Lean Leadership. In the session, Dr. Kurien covered the art of mobilizing and pulling together the intellectual resources of all employees, so that they can continually deliver at the highest value to their stakeholders, with the minimum use of resources.
Dr. Georgy Kurien is the Associate Dean at the Institute of Management, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru, India. He had served in the Indian Army as a commissioned officer. Dr. Kurien has many research publications to his credit, which include reputed international journals, book chapters, and international conferences. Dr. Kurien was awarded the prestigious Presidents Scout Award by the president of India when he was a student.
First Edition
Dr. Amalanathan S (Head, Department of Management Studies) facilitated the First Leadership Conversation and shared his experience of attending a Leadership Seminar at Harvard University, USA. Dr. Amalanathan administered a Leadership Orientation Survey for the participants and shared his experience and learning from the Leadership seminar at Harvard.
Dr. Amalnathan S is Head & Assistant Professor of the Department of Management Studies at CHRIST with over a decade of experience in teaching. He has worked in colleges such as Loyola College and Ram Krishan Mission Mission Vivekananda colleges before joining CHRIST. His educational background includes M.Com, M.Phil, MBA, and Ph.D.
