GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
IDENTITY CARD is a must for entering to the library and library transaction.
Library is a place for serious reading and research. Strict Silence should be maintained in the library and its premises.
All the users entering the Library shall keep their bags, handbags and personal belongings at the baggage counter.
Only notebooks and the library books will be allowed inside the library. All the user is advised not to leave their valuables at the baggage counter. Library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings.
Conversation and discussion disturbs library ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain dignified silence.
Care must be taken to see that the library walls, furniture and reading materials are not spoiled/damaged/soiled in any way.
Users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource fixed by the college.
Books and bound volumes should be handled with great care. Please avoid keeping the volumes open on the table or putting with their faces down, or inserting note books or pencils in between the pages and closing them. Pages must not be folded to serve as book marks.
Chairs and tables should not be disturbed from their position.
Users should avoid resting their feet on tables, chairs, shelves and discipline to maintained in the Library.
Beverages, Eatables, Audio-visual Devices Mobile phones, and other Equipment’s and their use is strictly prohibited.
Student found using Mobile phone in library premises, will have their phones confiscated by the Librarian.
Demand and suggestion slips are available at the circulation desk for your use.
If any reference is required, student should approach the Librarian.
On violation of Library Rules or misconduct of any user the librarian can withdraw the library facilities to that particular individual.
Look frequently at the Library Notice Board.
CIRCULATION RULES
All Faculty are allowed to borrow 5 books at a time from the library for a period of 10 days and all students are allowed to borrow 3 books at a time from the library for a period of 7 days.
Students are advised not to issue books to others on their names.
Renewals are allowed only once, when there is no claim by others.
Borrowed books should be returned on the due date failing by which a fine of Rs. 1/per day would be charged.
Reference Books, Periodicals and Project Reports will not be lent out.
Books should be handled with great care. Mutilation of books in any manner will be fined.
The borrower should examine the book issued to them and any damage, markings, etc. Should be reported to the librarian before leaving the counter. Borrowed book should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.
Circulated/loan book must be returned on the due date between 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. Books are issued from 1.30 pm. to 5.00pm on weekdays and up to 8.30 am to 2.00pm on weekends.
No books will be reissued without presenting them physically.
Loss of book must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of book is reported. If the original library book is returned after reporting is lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
If a book belonging to a series is lost or damaged and a new volume is not separately available, the whole set or series of books should be replaced.
If a book is irrecoverably lost, it must be replaced with a new one/latest edition or paid for such compensation as may be fixed by the college.
Borrowers, faculty, staff going on long leaves will have to return all borrowed material before leaving college.
All documents borrowed from the library by the students, and the members of the staff should be returned on or before the last working day of the academic year or on the date fixed by the Librarian.
The library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
The borrowing facility can be withdrawn or restricted in case of misbehavior or misuse of the library.
