What it means to be a Christchurch Sailor
Christchurch School is a college preparatory school focused not only on your acceptance, but on your succeeding academically, socially, and athletically at the right college or university for you. Our coaching staff, and facilities provide every resource possible for you to develop as an athlete. You will train against elite sailors every day, exploring how to bring out your very best physically and mentally. While we train hard and have a rigorous competition schedule, we maintain the balance between academics, community life, and athletics. Our sailors are academic and social leaders on campus as prefects, navigators, artists, musicians, and National Honors Society members. Our goal, above all else, is to teach you to pursue excellence in all that you do.

Recruit Overnight
Come to campus overnight, October 2nd and 3rd for the full Christchurch School experience. Prospective students will shadow current sailors through all elements of campus life. You will attend classes, the community engagement program, meals with their advisory group, and even get a chance to cheer on the Seahorse Volleyball Team in Yarborough Gymnasium. Bring a book to read during the night time study routine and live the late night dorm life with a possible cafe night. The next morning you will see some more classes and join the team during club time for a mental performance session with Coach Groen in the Board Room. After lunch you will head to the Admissions Office for an interview and to connect back with your parents.
Meanwhile, parents will tour campus with one of our student Navigators on the 2nd with a small reception at the Head of School's house with our senior faculty in the evening.
For more details or to make a reservation please contact Coach Deane, rdeane@christchurchschool.org.

Training Videos
We take a lot of video! Drones, GoPros, 360 cameras and coach's phones gather hours of footage at each practice. Sailors have the ability to review their performance as well as their teammates each day. The perspective from outside the boat helps them see what the coaches are seeing and saying. We review video as a group, but it is often most effective when a skipper and crew can analyze their movements together. The samples below are from our first day of Spring Training in 2024.
