Unique Handmade Ceramic Containers
URNS FOR ASHES came about as a way to offer beauty and utility to people who have lost someone or something important to them. These urns seek to offer what I can in empathy for people who have lost a living being.
I'm a maker who celebrates being human and being alive. As a potter I appreciate the language of change and transformation. To be fully human is to experience life and death.
I completed Master's degrees in both Divinity and Fine Art. I am a student of life.
Ceramic traditions have grown up alongside spiritual and religious ideas and traditions. Clay has been used for rituals and burials throughout human history. The forms taken - around the world, in most every culture, and across the centuries, - are beautiful and meaningful to me. They inspire awe and wonder.
I hope these handmade heartfelt objects help people to show reverence and respect. I want them to help with grieving and to honor the memories of ones passed by those who are still living.
These urns offer themselves as signifiers, and holders of ashes and memories. They are forms and symbols, they are containers of meaning. They are for people who have loved and who still love.
Wherever you are from, whatever your story, whoever you have lost, I hope you enjoy seeing these forms I create. They come in all shapes and sizes. Please contact me if I can help you find an urn or group of urns for the purposes or needs you have.
