When one of our employees is leaving, we should use a checklist to ensure we perform a professional and accurate termination procedure. The starting point for this is that we want our former employees to be good ambassadors for Clarion Collection Hotel, also in their new job.
When one of our employees is resigning, regardless of whether the initiative is taken by the employee or Clarion Collection Hotel, it should always be in writing. The full name of the employee, personal identification number and date of termination must always be noted on the document.
A copy should always be kept by the hotel as part of the employee’s personal file.
For Sweden: The trade union should be informed about the termination
Firstly, inform the colleagues working closely with the employee, thereafter you should inform all the hotel’s staff by email, weekly meetings etc.
If the employee has a role with extensive external contact, these people should be informed about the employee’s departure. This communication should be done in close collaboration with the person leaving.
