Profile of the Dean
The Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management (PhD-TM) Program of the College of Industrial Technology was authorized to operate under BOT Resolution No. 261, series of 2007. The Program started to run in the Academic Year 2007-2008. Likewise, the program was granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) through COPC No. 149 series of 2021, effective Academic Year 2022-2023. Moreover, it passed the AACCUP Level 2 Re-accreditation effective September 16, 2018- September 15, 2022.
The program was designed for the verticalization with the Master in Technology Management presently offered by the College of Industrial Technology and to produce proficient technology management educators, business and industrial managers who can effectively affect quality instructions and innovations to increase productivity.
This program is intended to provide the students with planned opportunities to advance knowledge in technological studies. It seeks to develop student’s ability to think analytically and strategically by exposing them to a broad range of managerial skills and the latest technological developments, to conduct critical evaluation and inquiry, and to operate as a self- learner and innovator.
A graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management (PhD-TM) program should be able to:
Effectively articulate the latest development in the Industrial Technology and allied fields;
Practice broad and coherent knowledge and skills in the field of Industrial Technology for professional work and life-long learning;
Demonstrate organizational, leadership skills, knowledge, and attitude congruent with the needs of local, national, and international
industries;
Practice professional and ethical work habits and interpersonal relations to become responsive members of the society;
Apply analytical and creative thinking in work;
Apply entrepreneurial skills for self-empowerment and sustainable development;
Participate in professional organizations, becoming active members;
Communicate effectively in both oral and written using the appropriate language; and
Continuously conduct GREEN researches to enhance the ever-changing needs of the industry that result to innovation, invention, and production.
AACCUP Level II
The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. awarded the PhD-TM program on December 14, 2018, with Level II re-accredited status with duration validity from September 16, 2018, to September 15, 2022.
COPC
The Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management was issued Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) No. 149, Series of 2021 last March 25, 2022 by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED).
Enrollment Trend
In the last four (4) academic years, the PhD - TM program had a total of 24 enrollees in the first semester and 44 in the second semester of AY 2019-2020. There are 34 and 37 students respectively for the first and second semesters of AY 2020-2021. For AY 2021-2022, there are a total of 46 students in the first semester and 36 students in the second semester respectively. For AY 2022-2023, there are 45 students in the first semester and 40 students in the second semester respectively. Overall, the program has a steady and healthy growth in its target market here in Negros Island.
ISO 9001:2015
The institution aims to achieve total quality in all areas of its operations. One of the initiatives the institution undertakes is subjecting its academic programs to an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) audit. Based on the external audit conducted last Nov. 15-16, 2021, the PhD-TM program conformed to ISO 9001, 2015.
CURRICULUM
Presently, the PhD-TM program has two (2) co-existing curriculums the 2019 curriculum was revised in compliance with CHED CMO No. 15 Series of 2019. Effective this Academic Year 2022-2023, the New Curriculum is currently applied to our newly enrolled students in the program. With the new curriculum, students will be able to finish their academic requirements within one and a half year by including summer classes in the program. Moreover, with the new curriculum, the dissertation is now offered by two semesters compared to the previous curriculum with only one semester.
CMO 15 s. 2019, suggests 24 units of coursework and 12 units of Dissertation Writing with a total of 36 units. The new PhD-TM curriculum was 33 units of coursework and 12 units of Dissertation writing with a total of 45 units. The additional nine (9) units are designed to further enrich the PhD-TM students with needed competencies as future innovative technology managers further enhanced by offering an Advanced Intellectual Property course in the curriculum.
The Doctor of Philosophy - Technology Management curriculum is composed of fourteen (11) coursework with two (2) dissertation writings. The program also has nine (9) Program Outcomes, which directs how PhD-TM graduates achieve after finishing the program.

During the pandemic, the university had to adopt a system that would guide the work instructions of the program chairperson and the students’ accomplishment of their tasks.
