The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) was authorized to operate under BOT Resolution No. 10, series of 2010. The Program started to run in the Academic Year 1996-1997. Likewise, it was granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) through COPC No. 41 series of 2018, effective Academic Year 2018-2019. Moreover, it passed the AACCUP Level 2 Re-accreditation effective July 1, 2018- June 30, 2022.
The degree program described herein shall be called Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). The degree of Bachelor in Science in Commerce (BSC) shall henceforth be discontinued, and Higher Education Institutions (HEI) that currently offer the Bachelor of Science in Commerce (BSC) are enjoined to rename their programs following this new nomenclature. Five distinct majors, or specializations, may be offered under the BSBA program: Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and Business Economics.
HEIs may offer other major, subject to the approval of the Commission, provided that the minimum curricular requirements for core business and management education courses, business administration core courses and major and elective courses are met.
After graduation, graduates of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College shall have:
1.) Complete understanding of the concepts, principles and the theories of Financial Management;
2.) Develop an understanding of the external environment which affects financial institutions and business organizations;
3.) Help the students seek employment and assume entry-level jobs or positions of responsibility as financial analyst, financial manager, executive, and teaching career or graduate studies in business;
4.) Design business research through the utilization of financial tools;
5.) Draw sound decision using analytical tools and perspectives in the analysis of financial reports; and
6.) Adhere to the values of integrity, professionalism, teamwork, transparency, accountability and social responsibility in the practice of their profession.
The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College shall be able to:
1.) Perform management functions operationally and competently
2.) Innovate business ideas based on emerging industries
3.) Use appropriate tools to solve business problems
4.) Demonstrate a sense of corporate citizenship and social responsibility when making individual and team decisions
5.) Apply ICT skills as required by the business environment
6.) Exercise moral and ethical standards when making decisions
7.) Communicate clearly in oral and written forms
8.) Practice gender sensitivity
9.) Show sense of patriotism in words and in deeds
10.) Conduct business research
The curriculum for BSBA covers a balanced treatment of functional areas in human resource management, marketing, finance, operations and economics. It broadens the knowledge and skills for local and international business environment. The subjects under the General Education (GE) courses are as per CHED memorandum no. 20 series of 2013. This curriculum is vertically aligned with the accounting, business and management (ABM) strand of the senior high school academic track. For students who did not take the ABM academic strand, HEIs should offer bridging courses such as the specialization courses in K-12 ABM strand, but not limited to said courses to make them at par with those who have taken the ABM academic stand and comply with K-12 requirements. New program offering under Business Management cluster (allied) must offer the 6 units common business and management courses. The HEIs may be allowed to credit subjects/course taken by students abroad provided they have the same required number of units and course description (CMO 17 s 2017, Article V, section 8).
All courses in the BS in Business Administration have been mapped to the Program Outcomes as shown in the Curriculum Map. This is to ensure that the program outcomes synchronized with the curricular program content.
This work procedure is to establish the process of review, revision and endorsement of the curriculum. The Dean together with the Program Chairperson ensure that the current curriculum is in consonance with the requirements of Policies, Standards and Guidelines of the program.
The Carlos Hilado Memorial State College adopts the Adaptive and Flexible Learning Experience (AFLEx). It is a type of learning that takes place off-campus or in the confines of homes with or without internet technology. The transition to AFLEx involved tweaking of the syllabus into a course blue print for flexibility, conducting training on the creation of modules, course guides, course schedule and assessment guides. Furthermore, it entailed designing of modules and instructional materials for flexible learning, adopting of revised grading system, and drafting of on-the-job training guidelines and evaluation for the in-campus activities.
There are policies on intellectual property rights (IPR), OER plagiarism, attendance, reporting and updating, teaching complement adopted by the institution such as evaluation and approval of faculty modules by Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development (CIMD) before distribution to students. Additionally, the Council of Deans has provided the guidelines of faculty and student monitoring of attendance, assessment and other related guidelines.
Moreover, the institution has adopted mechanisms for continuous quality improvement of the AFLEx such as continuous guiding done to faculty members in the creation or construction of their online class platform and reviewing of instructional materials by the the program chairs
CHMSUyanihan is a portmanteau of the words “CHMSU” and “bayanihan. It is an invitation and a challenge to all members of the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University community to respond proactively to the challenges brought about by the global pandemic especially to individuals, families, and communities who are highly disadvantaged and in distress. CHMSUyanihan demonstrates the collaborative actions and initiatives undertaken by our faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and friends.
CHMSU Messenger is published by the Center for External Affairs. This is intended to keep members of the CHMSU community across all campuses informed and updated of all the announcement, news, and updates. CHMSU Messenger is printed and distributed, or emailed every Friday afternoon and used as reference for all announcements during the flag ceremony every Monday.
The RIPPLES leadership camp started in April 2017, by the late SUC President, Renato M. Sorolla, PhD and Office of Student Affairs and Services in collaboration of Center for External Affairs. RIPPLES stands for Responsive, Innovative, Proactive, Passionate Leaders by Example and for Social Change. RIPPLES Training Camp is participated in by student leaders of various student organizations in a 7-day in-house training. It aims to empower the CHMSU Student leaders to respond positively to the signs and challenges of time, teach them to think of innovative ways to synergize and to collaborate with others in addressing problems and issues in school and the community, become a leader by example who serves as a living witness to positive human and sacred values, and to become actively involved and engaged in the personal transformation and the transformation of the school and society.
The 1st Seniors Aim High Week kicked off last Academic Year 2017–2018. The annual event is being organized by the Alumni Affairs Office, Career and Job Placement Office, Office of Student Affairs and Services, and the Center for External Affairs. Seniors Aim High Week is a week-long simultaneous event for all graduating students which includes Career and Job Fiesta, Alumni Orientation, Seniors-Alumni Night, a series of Career and Enhancement Talks, and other activities such as Tree Planting, Natures Appreciation, and others. Seniors Aim High Week aims to provide a platform for graduating students, alumni, and partners to interact, connect, and engage pertinently about career possibilities. Individuals who participate in career-related workshops are inspired, empowered, and educated about different choices, as well as the challenges that exist in their chosen fields. Job fairs, on the other hand, allow job seekers to meet recruiters and prospective employers awhile assisting them in forming a collaborative network.
Effective last March 8, 2021, the school implemented the school’s Ecological Waste Management System as a concrete response to one of the critical issues and challenges to address the waste management of the university. The Ecological Waste Management System is a result of a series of system-wide workshops with inputs from external experts conducted by the Greening CHMSU Taskforce since AY 2019 – 2020. As part of the core values of environmentalism, the EWMS encourages each member of the CHMSU Community to make waste management a personal commitment and responsibility. Among the activities and initiatives conducted were the creation of EWMS Team composed of 4 job order personnel under the supervision of the Greening CHMSU Taskforce, together with the JPA Personnel as front liners in implementing the system, massive information and education campaign to all office staff and faculty, and mandatory waste segregation.
