ALL - Walktober Let's Get Moving & Competition. We will be participating in Walktober 2025, a month-long challenge celebrating International Walk to School Month, encouraging everyone to take part, whether that’s walking, wheeling with a wheelchair or mobility aid, cycling, scooting, using Park and Stride, or taking public transport. Every active or sustainable journey makes a positive difference! Pupils can also take part in the “My Walktober Journey” competition by sharing the story of their active or sustainable journey. To find out more, visit - Whole School Letters
ALL - Bulb planting will take place on Friday, 10th October, at Greenbank and on Friday, 17th October, at Rooksdown. We welcome any help from parents/carers/relatives, and the timings to come onsite for each year group are included in the letters - GREENBANK and ROOKSDOWN
ALL - At Castle Hill, it is important to hear the voices and opinions of all our pupils. Our School Senate is an integral part of this process, and this letter will outline the opportunities for pupils to get involved. The nasal flu vaccine contains products derived from pigs (porcine gelatine). To opt for the porcine gelatine-free inactive flu injection, select NO to the nasal flu immunisation, and you will be given further options. More information for parents is available from www.nhs.uk/child-flu. Alternatively, if you decide you do not wish your child to receive the vaccine against flu, please complete the form to record your decision. This will enable us to update your child’s immunisation record.
ALL - Harvest Foodbank Letter - The Harvest Festival assembly will be held on Monday, 20th October. Again this year, we will be asking for Foodbank donations. Please take a look at the letter for the suggested list of non-perishable items. Thank you. - Harvest Foodbank Letter
Pupil school photos proofs have been sent home. Don't forget, for FREE DELIVERY to school, please place orders by Thursday, 16th October.
Grapes in packed lunches - Please remember that uncut grapes pose a significant choking hazard in children because their size and shape can completely block a small airway, and their smooth, firm skin makes them difficult to dislodge with first aid. Due to these risks, children under the age of five should always have grapes cut lengthwise, ideally into quarters. Even older children may benefit from having their grapes cut into smaller pieces to ensure safety.
Greenbank Reception door - Please do not pull the reception door when waiting to be let in. We kindly request that you press the buzzer and refrain from standing in front of the main door or attempting to pull it, as this is causing a malfunction with the electronic mechanisms. Thank you.
