CHPS Weekly Noticeboard
Week commencing Monday 26th January 2026
Week commencing Monday 26th January 2026
Whole School - Spring Parents' Evening bookings will be open on Arbor from 10:00 tomorrow morning (23.01.26) and close at midday on 9th March. Dates are for both Rooksdown and Greenbank on Tuesday 10th February and Thursday 12th February, between 15:45 & 18:45*. These are 10-minute face-to-face appointments with your child's teacher. Please follow the instructions in this link to book your appointment through Arbor - Arbor Booking Guidance for Parents Evening.
Please Note:
You are limited to one appointment per child due to the high number of pupils and time constraints. If you require a second slot due to exceptional circumstances, please speak directly to the Class Teacher, who will check if an additional appointment can be accommodated.
If your child is on the SEN register, you will be contacted separately by the class teacher, who will arrange an appointment at a different time.
*If your child is in Mrs Mundee/Miss Cocker/Miss Mould's Year 5 Class at Greenbank, you will have alternative parent evening dates of Tuesday 10th March and Thursday 12th March, but you are still able to book on Arbor from 10:00 tomorrow morning. There will be a separate communication regarding this.
Whole School - We have noticed that some pupils across both schools are wearing smartwatches. Can we please remind parents that we, of course, encourage children to wear watches to school, but we do not allow pupils to wear a ‘smart’ watch or any watch with the same functionality as a mobile phone or PC on the school site. Any mobile phone/device/smart watch which is used without the permission of a member of staff will be confiscated and kept in a safe place by the school until appropriate arrangements can be made for the collection. The child will be dealt with in accordance with the school's Behaviour policy. Under no circumstances should a mobile phone/device/smartwatch be used to record still or video images, or to record audio whilst on the school premises. The above stipulations are part of our safeguarding and child protection protocols, and we request your compliance for the safety and well-being of the whole school community. Please read our Uniform & Personal Belongings Policy - https://www.castlehillprimary.net/policies/uniform-personal-belongings
Whole School - Please log into Arbor and update your consents for your child/ren.
ALL Year 4 - Parents/carers, please complete the Year 4 Swimming lessons questionnaire (for Rooksdown and Greenbank pupils) by Friday 30th January - https://forms.gle/XFjjBggKSAGRAQkA6. The lessons begin on Wednesday 25th February, for 5 weeks at the Kim Chapmans Swim School @ Queen Mary's College. We are asking for a travel contribution of £18.50 paid via Arbor by 6th February.
Lateness is an ongoing issue! Please remember to inform the school office if your child has a medical appointment and will be late to school. In addition, if your child is going to be absent, you MUST contact the school office to report this by 9:00 am (including the reason for the absence/sickness) - https://www.castlehillprimary.net/attendance
End-of-day collection messages - to avoid messages being missed or delaying the collection of a child, please contact the school office via email by 2:45pm.
PE and Outdoor Explorers kit - could we please ask parents check their child's PE and outdoor learning days? The office team are being interrupted daily to make calls home regarding forgotten kit. Thank you.
Half Marathon for the ManMade Project - Miss Bagshaw (Rooksdown teacher) will be running the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon on 15th March 2026 in aid of Castle Hill Primary School and ManMade 2026. She is hoping to raise £750, which will help fund the ManMade 2026 project and allow children involved to receive a t-shirt to represent their dedication, success, and resilience. Any additional funds will then be donated to the school to support PE and sporting engagement where needed. If you would like to kindly support Miss Bagshaw's fundraising, the link is below. There is absolutely no expectation of a donation, but any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/miss-bagshaw?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL
