CHPS Weekly Noticeboard
Week commencing Monday 18th May 2026
Week commencing Monday 18th May 2026
Year 5 - Cranbourne Taster Day will be on Friday 19th June. Please read the letter sent from Cranbourne, which includes a consent form that parents must complete. There will be no transport available, so parents will need to drop off and pick up their child/children. Year 5 Cranbourne Taster Day Letter
Year 5 - PSHE Puberty Letter can be found under Year Group Letters on the school website
Whole School Sports Day Letters - Please help us make Sports Day a positive experience for all children by staying behind the designated line throughout the event. Feel free to wave and cheer from your spot, but please avoid encouraging children to come over to you during activities. For some children, the excitement and crowds can feel overwhelming, but our staff will be there to support and reassure them every step of the way. Thank you for your cooperation and support. Please read the following letters:
Greenbank Sports Day on Wednesday 20th May - Greenbank Letter
Rooksdown Sports Day on Thursday 21st May - Rooksdown Letter with map included
Whole School Class Photos Dates: Please make sure all children are dressed in full uniform on their allocated day. See table below...
Moving to Arbor for School Meals - We’re excited to announce that we are switching our meal payment system to Arbor starting this September! What you need to do:
Please keep topping up your child's Scopay account so they have enough credit for the rest of the Summer term. (This is only applicable for Years 3 to 6, as Years R, 1 and 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals).
Watch your balance - to help our admin team avoid a mountain of manual refunds, please try not to overfund your account. Aim to have a near-zero balance by the end of July!
Safeguarding Message: Revised Collection Arrangements for After‑School Events - Following recent questions and requests from parents, we have reviewed our collection arrangements for all after‑school events (e.g. clubs, discos, film nights). To ensure the safety and safeguarding of all pupils, please note the following expectations:
Year R and Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2)
All pupils in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 must be collected by a parent or carer from every after‑school event.
Key Stage 2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6)
Pupils in KS2 should be collected by a parent or carer from late‑finishing events (e.g. Friends events) and from all after‑school clubs/events during the darker winter months.
We strongly advise parents to collect younger KS2 pupils (Years 3 and 4) from all after‑school events. If a parent wishes their KS2 child (Years 3–6 only) to walk home independently, they must inform the school in writing before the child is permitted to do so. This ensures staff are aware of the arrangement. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining strong safeguarding procedures.#
External Club Providers
We are sharing this policy with all external providers. An external club is a club that you pay for directly with a supplier and not through Arbor. We do have some school sports coaches who run their own businesses in an after-school capacity. External Clubs are responsible for ensuring they have accurate collection arrangements in place for every pupil in their care once the school day ends at 15:15. Please confirm your collection arrangements directly with them.
Lunchtime Supervisor vacancies - If you would like to join our lunchtime team at Greenbank or Rookdown, please find the vacancy details here
New School Crossing Patrol Officer - We are recruiting an SCPO for Winklebury Way. For more information regarding the vacancy, please visit - Job Vacancy
Get ready Castle Hill, this half term we are launching our own Castle Hill Read-a-thon to raise money for our libraries! It's time to grab your favourite book, get cosy and start checking off those challenges!
Over half term, every child will come home with their own Reading Bingo card and sponsorship form. There are 9 challenges in total, and children can pick and choose which ones to complete - or aim for 3-in-a-row or even a full house! Whether it’s friends, family, neighbours, or even the family dog - encourage everyone to sponsor a challenge! We are celebrating all the different ways children can read, so remember they can also read audiobooks, graphic novels or comics as well.
When the children have completed their challenges, please collect their sponsorship money and pay it via the shop on Arbor (instructions below).
We will collect in their sponsorship forms over the first week back after half term, and we will have prizes for the most money collected, a full house is anyone who hits 3-in-a-row!
Paying money on Arbor:
1. Log in to your account
2. Click on 'School Shop Products'
3. Select 'May Read-a-thon'
4. Enter the amount raised and checkout

It is important to remind staff, children and families that ticks are found in all areas of the UK, and we should all be tick-aware. For more information, please see the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/lyme-disease/
