Your first visit will be the longest since it may include time spent filling out new patient paper work. But, you can save time by filling out the new patient intake forms online prior to your first visit.
On your first visit a detailed history will be taken. In addition, a musculoskeletal and neurological evaluation will be performed. Your doctor will also perform orthopedic testing, test and document muscle weakness, tenderness, and spasm. Your doctor may also recommend further testing such as imaging (MRI, CT, or Radiographs) and/or specialist referrals.
It is likely your first visit may also include passive and acute care therapy. A home exercise program may also be recommended.
Follow up visits are typically between 30-45 minutes and may include, therapeutic activities, exercises, massage, traction, muscle stimulation, heat/ice, and manual therapies.
