Fourth graders create an account on Career Locker in guidance class. Each has their own account with their school user name and password. Currently, we use this as part of guidance instruction in 4th and 5th grades. Our goal is for students to think about their interests and values and how finding a job that fits with them will make them happy and productive adults.

Username and password are those used for all technology. Username typically is the first 6 letters of the last name and first initial of both first and middle name (Sherry M Jasper = jaspersm). Passwords are also a pattern consisting of CF_ _._ _ _ _. After the CF, are the first 2 letters of the last name followed by a period and the student’s lunch account number.
Career Locker is designed to help youth and adults:
become aware of themselves and explore how their unique patterns of interests, skills and values can be applied to their future careers
become aware of the relevance of how their current educational experiences serve as the foundation for future career aspirations and life paths
become aware of Career Clusters for easy exploration of jobs and a better understanding of how they are related to one another
