Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Elizabeth Gilles, and I am starting my twentieth year at Chi-Hi working in the Special Education Department. I primarily work with students who have learning disabilities, but I am fortunate enough to work with students of all ability levels. This is also my sixteenth year serving as one of the academic chairs for the Special Education Department. As academic chair I am able to serve other staff members in my department so that they can better serve students.
I graduated from Chi-Hi, and attended UW-Eau Claire to obtain my teaching degree. In July 2011, I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Viterbo University.
My husband Gary and I have one son, Cole, who is sixteen years old, and a daughter Emma who is thirteen years old. They keep us very busy, but in my spare time I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, spending time outdoors, gardening and spending time with my family.
Some of the committees that I am a part of within the school district are: School Improvement Committee, SPED Leaders, and I am a mentor for new teachers. It is also important for me to give back to the university that helped me develop my teaching skills, and therefore, I am on a Special Education board in which I am able to bridge the relationships between the university and public schools. I am also fortunate enough to host student teachers and student interns in my classroom in order to help them develop their teaching skills.
This website is a resource for you! On here you will be able to access lesson plans and updates for all classes that I teach. Use this as a resource to help you prepare for times you/your child may be absent or need extra copies of homework/notes.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
~Mrs. Gilles
